Location was lovely, with views across to the nearby mountains and also down towards the sea at Hofn. Our room (a semi-detached log cabin) was very clean and tidy with a comfy bed and decent shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was included in the room rate and offered the standard selection of cold meat, cereal, fruit and bread. All were fine. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and gave a good first impression of the place. Hotel does have a restaurant of their own which is.
all reviews » This place is exactly what you need when travelling Iceland - maybe after some youth hostel stays in Southern Iceland, a more comfortable option close to Hofn. Nice staff, clean, and comfortably located. Ideal especially if you want to go horseback riding. Free Wi-Fi worked well. I liked the cabin I stayed in . . . the twin beds could be pulled farther away from each other, it was a quiet location (good for sleeping), the beds were comfortable, and the restaurant had excellent food for both breakfast and dinner. Also, the staff were friendly. We stayed in one of the cottages - beautiful scenery - comfortable and clean room The food was superb - great chef - highly recommend it although it is high in price it is well worth it. The accommodation is mainly in cabins which are quite comfortable. everything was good. A very minor thing but the TV in the room was very dated. Having had other breakfasts in Iceland, the selection could have been better (fully served its purpose though). I thought the desserts in the restaurant were overpriced. It is a little high in price. Double room had twin beds pushed close together but were still separate. Price of this lodge was much more higher than better hotels in other areas of Iceland! A refridge would increase the convenience!. The rooms with shared bathroom are very small and below ground. Considering it's the most expensive place we have been, the price/quality ratio is seriously low. Nothing in the way of public rooms except the restaurant. Relatively expensive.
