  We liked the location in Flores, right on the water; close to restaurants and hotel restaurant is good and reasonable. Had a pool but not fan or A/C in the 5 bed family room, but didn't really need it in July. We had a night bus to G.   We really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Casona de La Isla. We are a family of four with the children being ages 11 and 13. We found the Hotel to be very clean and welcoming and the view, from the comfortable chairs outside our room, of the Lake was fantastic.   Very kind, helpful and professional staff. Large room with TV, fan and A/C. Terrace with a view on the lake. Breakfast is available from 6 AM but a "light" breakfast is also available from 3 AM for those who want to visit Tikal's ruins at dawn. Very good value for money - Excellent value.   Arrived from 36 hours of bus travel at 0830 hers, tired and dishevelled. Reception took one look at me and said "go have breakfast and we will have your room ready when you are finished" A half hour later I was luxuriating under a hot shower. No charge for the very early check-in. Also loved the pool and my balcony onto the street - arrived 8am ... what people say » after a 36-hour bus trip from Oaxaca, MX and a day early for my reservation and looking a tad dishevelled. Reception sent me for breakfast and said my room would be ready after I ate. A half hour later I was standing reborn under a hot shower washing away all traces of my trip, ready to "carpe" the "diem"
