The owners are very friendly and offer unexpected little treats. They give tailored advice about things to see on the island. We were also very lucky to receive lifts to and from the port. The quality of the accommodation (incl. a nice little pool with sun beds) is good, esp. considering the relatively low price.We tried two different rooms, and they were both clean, with hot water available in the shower at all times.

Information about the area

Naxos Town (also known as Chora) is the island’s main town and resort and is known for its delightful waterfront, the main square and the maze of narrow streets and alleyways that make up the Old Quarter. A visit to the town’s Kastro (castle) is a must and a trip up here is worth if for the scenic views over the town and the sea. The castle walls date back to the 13th century and inside the castle you will find the Capuchines Monastery, the Catholic Cathedral and the Ursulines Monastery.

The island of Naxos combines sandy beaches with fertile valleys and a mountainous landscape. The island is worth exploring by hire car or on one of the many local buses.

Travelling information

Pension Irene II is situated just 700 metres from the port of Naxos Town (Chora).
From the port, turn right and follow the main road.
Turn left at Piraeus Bank, then first right. This leads to the Main Square.
Take the road with the Chemist on the left corner and small Supermarket on the right.
You pass Nikos Bikes and the Police Station on your right.
Continue straight until you see a small Pension Irene II sign.
