We chose the Akrotiraki Hotel, as having read the reviews it sounded the best option in terms of value for money and location. We didn't have any particular expectations, so were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The setting is fantastic - overlooking Megali Ammos beach and the bay with views across to the Mykonos windmills. The room, although quite basic, was perfectly adequate - very clean and comfortable. all reviews » 5 of us stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights mid May 2013. Perfect seaside location within 10minutes walk to town centre. Beautiful view to the shore and town. Staff- which happened to be one girl doing everything- was exceptionally friendly and we felt very looked after. Rooms were big enough, simple but clean. Breakfast was continental with some nice cakes and great coffee. There is no pool but they have some loungers on the terrace if you should be lazy enough not to walk 1 minute down to the beac. The location was great with nice views of the bay and quiet at night, room was of a good size and although the beds felt hard they were very comfy. The young lady opperating the hotel that seemed single handed was very polite and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for her although we were only there one night. The breakfast was above average for Greece plenty of choice. All this for £19 carn't be bad. One tip book for an evening meal at Nicos's at the far end of the bay the food was g. Fabulous views, great breakfast, close to the main Little Venice shopping area. A good 10 mins walk to town but far away to give it a tranquil, peaceful and relaxing stay away from the noisy crowds. Close to restaurants and a fabulous beach directly under us. Truly lovely stay. Mackeala a sweet Romanian girl made our stay a happy one. Having been in the Greek islands previously we had low expectations as most hotels were expensive and not very good, but this hotel was cheap for what you get, just like the pictures and had amazing views of the beach. It's a 5-10 minute walk to mykonos central uphill and is right on the beach. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was divine with traditional Greek cakes. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Michaela (hostess) was exceptionally accommodating and very helpful. We felt very lucky with the views that we got from our room and at the breakfast table - it's right on the sea! The location is perfect. It's 10 min walk from town - far enough to be quiet but also close enough to be extremely convenient. Bedrooms provides everything you need including a balcony. Unbeatable value for money wise. Ten minute walk to town so out of the busy times when ships call in. Just across the road to beach and use of swimming pool/ bar/ restaurant because staying at this Hotel. Young lady who greeted us and we dealt with all the time was so helpful and so pleasant. As I compare the other two Akrotiraki is almost the same conditions and features. But it has budged advantage. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Whatever you need they assit with and they are always around. The views are stunning from your balconies or terraces. The rooms are basic but ample for a budget getaway and they are cleaned daily. It is located in a quiet area next to the beach and about 15 mins walk from the bus station. My stay was perfect!!! really confortable, incredible view and great customer service. It think some comments were exagareted or berakfest had been bettered. It was not so bad but would be better to serv some fresh tomatos, cucumber, olive, different types of cheses etc. besides all sweat cokies, cakes, jams. Nothing. Location is perfect if you accept to walk 10-15 min to city center. unfortunately the delay of the transport to the airport on the return date . Very small rooms. The breakfast is boring ...Same every day with cheap products.. Showerarea turns into pool due to none fitting showercurtain.. Nothing. It was great. 10mins walk to town, not enough restaurant around it. Our room wasnt ready for over an hour when we arrived although people that were arriving an hour or so after us were took straight to their rooms by her which meant that she wasnt finnishing the cleaning of ours but only a minor hiccup.. We asked for a double bed and had two singles pushed together. Nothing. a small detail in the room,the light for emergency exit is very strong and facing the bed,we need to covered with a towel to avoid it. not a big problem..can be mix.. Minimal staff (only one person handling everything). The booking was for all 6 of us and they charged my card (it does not mention this anywhere) and I have incurred a foreign transaction charge. We intended to pay in cash as we usually do. They have promised to amend the details on your site. Breakfast ordinary. The rooms could have been cleaner and more neat. The outside chair had some substances on it and the shower had some grit/dirt. The owner/staff smokes in the hotel so it smells, and the place has too many small things standing around gathering dust. There would be random objects (cleaning equipment) standing around even in the hallways. This hotel just feels too "homey". No kettle for tea/coffee. The fact that we asked for a drink from the hotel bar at 10pm in the evening and told that we couldn't have one!!!. the staff is not very friendly and helpful the bed is not clean and even with sands on the bed the breakfast is limited and the milk is smelly.
