The staff were extremely helpful and worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Everyone was made to feel welcome and there was a feeling that no matter what you asked for they would go out of their way to try and make sure you received your request. A well run hotel with an atmosphere that was relaxing and friendly. Very good location, close to chania, within walking distance there is avery nice beach and many places to eat. The simple and clean rooms withfantastic views. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Internet not included.But my mattress was very not comfortable. Sleeping at night with closed terrace door was impossible because it wastoo hot inside the room. On the other hand, sleeping with an openterrace door was inconvenient because of the early sun rise, andmoreover - it gave no privacy because our terrace's partition with ourneighbour's was too low, so it was necessary to use the aircondition forwhich we were asked to pay extta.Up a steep hill off an industrial very busy road. Advised it was 5 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to the centre walking.These distances are by transport,made things difficult due to an injury. Therefore hired a car for the full duration.Intially given for 2 nights a twin room with side seaview,we paid extra for a seaview room.New room still not at the front but better, not what we paid for mind. lack of shawer curtains. Not a hotel issue, but we did not like the barking dogs at night. Rooms were not cleaned every day. Breakfast was delayed on a couple of days.Hotel is located at the outskirts of Chania, in 30 min walk from downdown Chania. hotel address on the letsbookhotel.com site is not accurate, it's located in Parigoria, that is before Kato Daratos.rooms are small and with minimum # of furniture. when we arrived we had no light on bathroom, but it was fixed next day. beach is in 15 min walk from the hotel.breakfast is decent. You should call the hotel staff before booking and ask if the hotel restaurant is open. If the restaurant is closed, be prepared to travel to Chania city whenever you're hungry because there are no restaurants near the hotel. The main road to the city is crowded with heavy and dangerous traffic. It takes 25 minute to walk, so it's better to take the bus or a taxi. Especially if you have children.

Travelling information

The taxi ride from Chania International Airport to Hotel Alexis takes 25 minutes. If you are arriving by ferryboat from the Port of Souda, the taxi ride takes 10 minutes.

Land travel between Cretan cities:

From Heraklion airport, travellers can take a taxi to the bus terminal (KTEL) in the city. Buses leave there for Chania bus terminal approximately every hour. Once you have reached Chania bus terminal, you can pick up a taxi to Alexis hotel.

At Heraklion Airport you can easily rent a car for your trip to Chania.

By Ferry Boat:

Ferry boats between Athens and Crete are available through Chania, Rethymno or Heraklion, and they accommodate cars on the overnight trip. Ferries depart every evening, from the port of Piraeus, and arrive in the Cretan cities the following morning. On the return trip, similar ferry boat schedules are available.
