good location, good price, good staff. there's a market very close by (fresh food!), a fridge in the room (on the 6th floor you get a balcony too), and the acropolis is within easy walking distance. the owners are very friendly and helpful too. very clean, but simple (it's a 2 star hotel - don't expect great luxuries). decent breakfast. close to the central metro station (so good if you have an early flight out).
all reviews » This hotel is very clean, although it is on the fringe of a seedy area. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even giving us a box breakfast when our plane was leaving before breakfast. However, we did not like going out after dark except to the restaurant just across the street. Great location for sightseeing, 1/2 mile to the metro and Plaka. We would stay there again while in Athens.The location of the hotel, during the day, very close to everything,easy to walk to all locations. Not very safe at night ! Very very niceadministration's team !. Excellent value for money, clean and nice rooms, good breakfast, very central position, polite staff. Some people on tripadvisor.com complained that the location was dangerous or seedy; I don't agree.Fantastic balcony for breakfast or evening bar with amazing view of the Acropolis. We had a room on the street (4th floor) and we were lookingat a old and vacant building. We had our curtains closed every time wewere in the room. So be sure to ask a room not on the street. The hotel had to provide free taxi service to move its guests to another service if they did not have free rooms for the first night. Frankly speaking, the walk through the mob to the other hotel at 21:00 was a shocking experience with about thirty policemen in helmets and shields at the end of the street.Noise for naboring rooms and not enough service minded staff. The hotel wants 5 euro extra for A/C. the environment. In common with many hotels in Greece the front-of-house staff almost appear hostile, if not agressive. This seems to be common in shops too across the city and the Saronic Gulf - strange when they are so dependent on tourism. while one does not expect to be kissed and embraced a pleasant 'hello' or 'good morning' would be welcome. Bad coffee. There was not always hot water when I wanted to shower.the surrounding area of the hotel was very run down and when we arrived late at night we were a little concerned about our safety.have to say that during the day time we had no issues.
