Staff very friendly and spoke excellent English. They gladly looked after our luggage following check out as our flight back was in the evening and made good recommendations for places to eat in Dusseldorf. Everything within walking distance. this flat is just in the middle of the city center, best location to go out at night. Don't go to sleep early because you have Papagayo's disco downstairs which closes at 5am on the morning! :). Location was great!!! The room was pretty big and comfortable. Very quiet at nights in spite of the hotel being in the middle of the pubs and bars street. The person at the reception appeared to be kind. Central location, spacious room. I did not like anything in this hotel. Can be very noisy at night due to the proximity of the lively bars. No lifts so it can be a struggle getting any heavy luggage up the stairs. You should know this apartment is above a night club, we didn't, it came as a bit of a shock. Especially as the club didn't shut until 6 am Sunday morning. Fantastic if you're clubbing, not so great if you would like to sleep. No lift. We arrived late at night aprox 23.00 and everything was closed no one on reception to unlock the door I hade to call to the gen manager to enter the building and get the key to my room. Located near Bars/Discoteques, very very very noisy, music till 7 am. Even excellent windows do not help. Take ear plugs with you if you want to sleep. No breakfast; bed easily separated in the middle, making sleeping uncomfortable; Hot water never really got hot; shower doors were off the track, making them difficult to close and keep water in the shower. Can't think of it). Crowded street until the early morning stings,,,,, There is no elevator,,,, I would not recommend it for families,,,,. The bathroom had a weird smell, very uncomfortable. Wifi was not working in our room as further away from reception. Staff said they cannot change our room just after checking in, but we were more then welcome to surf next to reception in a concrete hallway without any seating options. Staff said that internet was working on their phone yesterday so must be our phones... oh thanks... would not stay again. an outside corridor was slippy. Noise, but that is because it is in the absolute centre of the Altstadt WI-fi did not work. In december it was really cold in the room at night. Also specific smell. A bit loud because it's located in the heart of the clubbing region of the city. Noisy: On Friday and Saturday nights you cannot sleep because it is right on top of a disco that goes until 4:00 am or so. The rest of the week the doors slam at all hours - try to avoid the rooms next to the stairs. Internet did not work for the last 2 days of our stay. Some noise from the busy bars late at night. Noise. Our room was the furthest in the building away from the club in the basement which is open until 4 am and yet we could hear the noise all night long. On the weekend the street noise does not go away until after six in the morning. If you are planning on partying all night and sleep all day this is great. There were only two of each item for the kitchen. Internet was weak, the stairs are narrow and difficult to negotiate if you have much luggage. Very noisy. Papagayeo disco is incredibly loud. Also, the front door bangs loudly every time someone goes out or comes in. Stairwell echos - perhaps some notices asking for quiet would help?. The 1st room we put in had a major insect problem. Bugs were all over the windows and in the bed. The second room wasn't so bad with bugs but, we couldn't open the widows which made the rooms stuffy because there was no air conditioning or fans for air circulation. The beds were horrible. Alot of noise Reception is closing at 22.00. We lost the keys and we couldn't enter the room. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town which has its nagative and positve sides location is great but the negative part is the noise coming from the surroundings is unblivablabe no way to sleep till the bars around the hotel close. internet did not work, tv did not work, when booking it was discounted from 470 Eur to 70 Eur. making it appear as a super bargain. No way is this hotel worth 470. The noise from the night life in the street kept us awake till six in the morning. The whole building vibrated with the loud beat coming from somewhere downstairs. A nightmare! Never again! Should have read the reviews before booking. A completely misguided choice. This establishment should come with a health warning. We were promised an apartment with sitting ,Kitchen ,dining area and sofa sitting place etc., but was given only One Room with attached small bathroom which I would call a studio Room and we were put on the 3rd Floor and this place has no lift and we had to carry our heavy bags.The room was not cleaned on the first day and after complaining it was cleaned everyday.
