I loved the charm of the building, and the location was wonderful. The staff was also very helpful. They let us use their refrigerator to store my daughter's medicine. Hotel is in the center of the Cologne so you can go everywhere by foot. Free wlan, wonderful view on the river, good breakfast. position and friendly helpful staff. very good breakfast buffet. Centrally Located. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. They have good english but do have a go in German, they like that! Comfortable rooms, some mention of bells and trains elsewhere in these reviews but it really isn't a problem. The position is great, close to the Altstadt, station and river.Breakfast is good with a plentiful choice and there is a quaint, kitsch cocktail bar to while away the hours.Close to all the Christmas Markets. The staff were very friendly andhelpful, when I needed a Doctor they found me one and even asked how Igot on afterwards. Nothing was to much trouble for them. It is in a good location, just on the edge of the old town. We stayed there for the Christmas Markets and it was perfect for walking to all the markets. The restaurant is also excellent.iIs location by the Rhine and proximity to station, It also has an excellent Italian food restaurant with outdoor tables. friendly and helpful staff. This was the only hotel on our trip that charged a slim ten-year old boy full prize for breakfast.no staff in breakfast room,had to clear tables before you could have your breakfast,no orange juice,very little milk, very very very poor service. rooms very small. even if offered, they are not accepting a reservation of a parking place. The free wifi is dreadfully slow. No a/c, Cologne gets hot in the summer. Unhelpful staff who did not do anything about our heating not working. Constant strong smell of smoke that came up the stairs and penetrated the room. Poor breakfast when we arrived after 9:30 even though breakfast should be available until 10am.
