the location, location, location was ideal and the friendliness of staff was superb, so too the food, to the extent we did not wish to leave...we loved this place and will certainly be back and will recommend to our friends...thanks Altberlin, you enabled our visit to Berlin to be a most memorable experience. A charming hotel: a real oasis in central Berlin.The decor and furnishings are beautiful and the service is excellent. This was my second visit and I am already looking forward to my third!.

The food (breakfast) was excellent and the staff very helpful. Convenience - did a very good breakfast - had a bar and a lounge to sit in. the location is pretty good, walking distance from Potsdamer platz. The design of the hotel is interestiong. Clean and warm rooms. It was up-graded with a lift.- I like the "oldfashion" atmospher in Hotel Altberlin. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel is well located. the lift was out of order. The male member of the reception staff was unfriendly and did not like to be given tasks when he was busy playing backgammon on the computer.No we would book AltBerlin again. All was fine.No mirror in the bedroom. no late bar (after midnight). the room was too small, the bed was devided to 2 matresses wich made it difficult for 2 people to sleep together, there was no internet conection availble. Some of personal did not speak english but they were polite anyway.We found the immediate area around the hotel a bit depressing - a pity. Initially, we also felt the atmosphere in the hotel a bit sombre and ghostly, with the dark statues of the woman and the girl in the front hall! But we got used to the old-fashioned style of the hotel. The time schedule of the restaurant (dishes not available to early at evening time). Bath room door was not door which was wooden type of curtian style was not comfort. No bar open on Sunday night.

By car:
Please take the A100 and exit at Innsbrucker Platz. Follow the Hauptstrasse. The Hauptstrasse will continue into Potsdamer Strasse. On right hand side you will find the hotel.

By public transport:
From TXL take the X9 bus in the direction of Ernst-Reuter-Platz and then the U2 in the direction of Bülowstrasse and from there, take the 148 bus to Lützowstrasse/Potsdamer Strasse.

From S+U Zoologischer Garten, take the U2 bus in the direction of Bülowstrasse and then take the 148 bus in the direction of Lützowstrasse/Potsdamer Strasse.
