Having don - My boyfriend & I both loved staying here, we stayed in room 3 & we were able to walk straight onto garden & to pool. We spent 1 night in the medieval city then 3 nights at La Bastide Saint Martin, it is more in the countryside & the outdoor pool is lovely for sunbathing, relaxing & switching off! One day we hired the bikes & the owner gave a map & we took the scenic route by the riverside & then over the future bridge into the centre for lunch & wine then cyc

  The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were nice, clean and looked new. The hotel is a bit outside the city, but excellent location if you have a car as it is next to a large shopping center and a short drive to the historic Carcassonne. Both the old town and the Carcassonne castle is worth a whole vaccation. We only spendt 1 night there, bu... what people say » t wished we could have stayed a day or two longer. The only downside to the hotel is that the signs to get there is a bit small. We totally overlooked - It was more like a U.S. motel than any of the 20+ hotels where we have stayed in Spain and France. Because we were traveling by car, this was wonderful! It was an easy drive from the hotel to La Cité and the castle. If you are not driving to Cascassonne, this is not where you want to stay. The hotel is new and spacious.
