Very clean and comfortable hotel. Location is great in terms of being close to the train station (makes getting in and out very easy), and nearby the train station there are also a lot of shops (like supermarket) and restaurants. However, it's a little further away from the pebble beach, the promenade, and the major shopping area (which is near the coast) as well as Old Town Nice. (at least 20 min walk to all those) You can also take the tram alternatively.
all reviews » Situated in the centre of Nice and within a couple of minutes walk of the main railway station, the hotel had a pretty Mediterranean courtyard garden. The rooms overlooked the garden and hence the hotel was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a relaxing atmosphere. The Promenade des Anglais is an easy 10 minute walk. Would stay there again. location - 5 min from railway station, but around 20 min to the beach free car parking, but limited to availability - "first came - first served" pleasant staff - always ready to help (the hairdryer in our room was broken and we got it replaced by the time we cam back to the hotel in the evening). The location was convenient from the train station, the adjacent garden was very pleasant and the hotel being set back from the street made it quiet and peaceful. The room was very comfortable with a couch for relaxing and a big tub. Hotel situated at 15 minutes walk from beach and old town, 2 minutes from the railway station with a direct bus connection to the airport.The hotel is an older but very stylish building and is perfect for a short city trip. Excellent location, great facilities, close to shops, and public transport. Initially found it hard to find as entrance is behind other buildings and google map could be better. It is also stuck behind other buildings and hotels which can make it hard to find, or could make dragging a luggage in and out be a minor issue. no elevator and narrow stairs - caution for travellers with big heavy suitcases not easy to get to the hotel - almost all roads are one-ways and the one leading to the hotel goes via tunnel beneath the railway station, so don't forget your GPS if travelling by car. The hotel is very close to the train station, I believe it is not safe to walk around during the night. They advertise as they have wifi in all areas, but it didnt work in our room. Room Decor and tranquil atmosphere even though in City Centre near station. Biggest disappointment was I had booked a room with a patio and that didn't materialise (we were on the second floor). The furniture was shabby (only one drawer with handle, wardrobe door had to have a chair in front of it to stop it opening). the reasons for a lower facilities score; the wifi didn't work in our room at all (not good enough in this day and age), and for the want of a shower head bracket they could have a proper shower instead of one you have to wave about (shower curtain would also be useful). Internet is sometimes absent in some rooms that we were obliged to move to another room. Bed is so bad quality in one of the rooms, acceptable in the other. Flooded bathrooms due to only handheld shower head with no screen over bath. Small rooms. Cheap curtains that did not keep out light and being kept awake all night with the garden light. Expensive. Wifi did not work in rooms. Some staff were very unhelpful and standoffish! Breakfast was very expensive for what you received. Expensive breakfast, and no English TV channels. It is difficult to locate. Although there is free car park, it is difficult to drive to the hotel directly because of one-way traffic. Staff is not so friendly overall. poor wifi signal too expensive during high season. The wifi signal is unstable!. Too many stairs for luggage. Staff isn't too friendly. Lack of electronic socket in the room. Everything. room was in the basement and there is not renovation.
