The staff were fantastic. Every single person we met seemed to like their job, were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We loved staying at this hotel. The rooms were a good size for European standards, very clean and quiet. The location was excellent- a nice walk along the river into the heart of Chamonix and an easy, short walk to the gondola. The dinner was excellent and the breakfasts were good (coffee was delish!). Parking was plentiful and right outside the h.
all reviews » From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and every assistance was given to us. The room was clean and tidy and each day the cleaning and tidying whilst we were out was faultless. Breakfast was excellent and generous in quantity. We were given helpful advice each day to make the most of ourstay and on the last day the luggage storage and shower meant we could have a full day skiing before our trip home. Thanks also for arranging ourairport transfer. All in all a great hotel in a great locatio. The room we had was great, the staff were very helpful in giving travel advice (in English...we don't speak French), the breakfasts were way above average for hotels in that price range and dinner in their restaurant were delicious and very reasonably priced, especially compared to the restaurants in the center of town. We also appreciated being away from the main part of town but within walking distance along a lovely lighted, wooded path. The room was quiet and parking was free. It was a terr. We loved the view from our balcony, the friendly staff and the excellent food served in the restaurant. The bar is also a good place to hang out and try one of the hotel's fantastic cocktails or watch sports. On the whole, the hotel was great value for money. It has a nice sauna and is ideally located for the slopes with a bus stop directly outside. It was the staff that really did it for us though. John has a very attentive, hard working team. The hotel is ideally located just outside chamonix about a twenty five minute walk along the river. The bus stop is right outside the hotel if you prefer to catch bus into chamonix . It is close to the golf course and only a few minutes walk to the lift to take you up into the mountains. The views of the mountains from the hotel are stunning. Good WiFi. Good bar. Excellent value. Although the hotel is not in Chamonix town centre, its only a 20 minute walk away and the location is good for getting to the slopes in a car. Very friendly and helpful staff. Chamonix has to be one of the best scenic spots in the world and this hotel enjoys one of the best locations in chamonix. It is a budget hotel with a five star location, staff and service. It's a great hotel, especially if you have a room with a view. However the walk is very nice unless it's raining. Most facilities were closed as it was "between seasons". Bit far from town, 15-minute walk. Quite sterile. Room Basic - needs a bit of refurb. Bed too small. Better / more shower gel/ shampoo needed in bathroom. Just a bit too far from Chamonix to walk but taxi fare €28!!. Our children (aged 6 and 8) were charged for adult meals because we did not specifically request children's meals. Rooms are very small. Probably ok if you don't have any bags. Small rooms. Advertised as luxury but very basic - no safe or security available; bathroom tiny. There was no common Areca for a suite. breakfast and food was not generous, fruits always empty, etc... The bathroom -toilet unit was too small. The room was awful! We were put on the top floor - the after thought. The bathroom was an all in one unit like on a small cruise ship. It smelled like urine and was nasty. The beds were uncomfortable. Warning: the rooms pictured above are not what we had at all. Total let down. I have pictures.
