The hotel was very good value for money and the staff very helpful. The staff were very helpfull and it was very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was excellent value, spacious rooms and to say they were bed settee's they were extremely comfortable. The view from the side room over the countryside was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to all travellers.

Quiet, modern, easy book in, pleasant service, offered a coffee on leaving (nice touch).1) Compound was enclosed (including car park) so that provided extra peace of mind with regards to personal security as well as for the hire car in the car park. 2) It was an appartment with a little kitchen so allowed for food to be prepared and we weren't forced to eat out all the time. Great facilities large room and good kitchen. Excellent value for money. 20 min walk to train station.I would stay there again, but please think about changing the mattresses. A spacious apartment, not just a room with extras, as we expected. We would like to mark it as excellent, but this could not happen because of the negative aspect of the lack of a good night's sleep on the double bed.Self catering was great as we could make our own breakfast. it was very clean and warm. having the facilities of an appartment rather than just a hotel, ie small kitchen. It stated when booked that the Hotel was in the city centre but in fact it is a good 15-20 mins walk which is very hilly. Not having somebody on reception on a Sunday it was difficult at first to identify what to do to get keys to the rooms. Only slight critisism is there is no kettle which would have been a help. Very quiet area.The internet wi-fi system wasn't working properly - this is an imprtant aspect of any hotel for me. The room temperature system had no instructions, hence I did not work it efficiently. yes, the mattresses.The double bed had a mattress that was really hard, we could absolutely not sleep on it. Fortunately the sofa with extra bed in the living was better. It is in an isolated spot and as we had no car it took us 90 minutes to walk to the Cite.not sure about the sofa beds and the internet didn't work the 1st day. The Hotel stated that it was a stones throw from the city walls, thismust have been by catapult, as it was a 25 minute walk to the old City.Distance to the center of Carcassonne is 2 km and to the old city 3km.You need a car to go there. No breakfast on Sunday could be a bit boring for people when there is no cafe nearby, although there are cooking/coffee making facilities in the room.distance to the old City. nobody present on a sunday checkin-had to call to get instructions which should be posted in the reception. location was far from city center. original room contained a bed sofa however after discussion this was changed to a room with a seperate room. Claim that it was close to the walled city is ridiculous. Its at least2km. This is very misleading. The apartment was scantily provided with china/cooking materiel (eg no cups/mugs, no kettle, one pot lid only, no bread/cooking knives) no food storage space, poor work surface space. Mean supply of towels for 2 people. Concierge staff should be more easily contactable. Attendance hours of staff are too limited. Our kitchen had several faults which it was not possible to report in time.Check out time was too early at 10.00 and it was not as close to the town of Carcasonne as the advert said. Not that clean, sofa bed not particularly comfortable. Location was described as being a few steps from the city - more like 2km.They do not have beds, they used a kind of "couch-bed", like a foldablebed. Very unusual and not comfortable. Far from the city center and no good access via public transportation.To be fair the hotel was reasonably new, in fact suspect we were the first guests in the room we had. However the bathroom did not seem completely finished and I wonder if they were taking guests before hotel was ready. The staff never was around even when I tried to pay. The bed was a sofa bed and at the end of my stay, my back was terrible. I felt like an old lady.The secure parking wasn'T. It was unmanned apart from a security guard(not on duty Sunday evening) who took our room keys in the morningleaving us locked out that night. The emergency phone number couldn't beaccessed by our phone - fortunately another guest appeared and helped. Very cold in apartment-took a long time to heat up. it took 6 days to change linen and towels and had to tell them.
