Nice and quiet place in the winter, especially in the evening, when the staff leaves the hotel and the lights are dim. Comfortable beds. Also I liked this rocking chair in a hall next to the breakfast room, where you can watch tv, read books and drink tea/coffee, which are provided for free. Spacious clean rooms, good breakfast, good value for money. Very good Italian icecream shop in the next building. Location 1-2 km north from Mariehamn center was perfect for us, as we took biking trips towards other areas of the island and didn´t have to start by biking through the center.
all reviews » We liked being at the hotel as it feels homely. The staff were friendly, helpful and did everything to make us feel welcome. Parking in front of the hotel was available. I would definitely stay there again. Well-appointed and spacious room, very quiet and lovely place not too far from the action, not that there is that much in Mariehamn. Next door to Italian gelataria and restaurant. Well maintained hotel approx 2kms north of the city. Relaxed atmosphere, rooms are clean and comfortable. Good value for money considering Alands price level. Very friendly and helpfull staff,good breakfast with local specialities.Comfortable beds and spacius bathroom. Butter was somehow rancid. Internet provider did not accept our 'foreign' Mastercard. We had to wait until the next morning, then we asked the owner, and he charged our card and paid for us himself. If you don't have some local payment card, check for an internet at check-in before the staff leaves the hotel. Lack of personality & color in the interior design of the rooms. Definately not a lodging for "romantic weekend" if you´re looking for that sort of a thing, and not so comfy/homy for a longer stay. Location off from the center, by bike 5 min, but 15-20 min by walking. No garden and the to the front of the hotel there was only space for parking. Our room smelled like a smokers room. No access to free wifi in room, was available in TV lounge and in breakfast room only. 2km from centrum. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. A bit far away from the city center. Far from the city centre (about 30 min on feet). No WiFi in breakfast room.
