We liked everything about this hotel - it was by far the best we stayed in while in Ecuador. The hotel was extremely clean, the wi-fi worked great in our rooms, the shower always had hot water (sometimes a problem in other places in Ecuador). The hotel staff were very friendly, they spoke English and were extremely accommodating (E.G., they let us check into our room at 9am even though officially check-in is not until 2pm). Got a great deal on bookings.com Now, this is not a luxury hotel and no where in Puerto Aroya will you get the value for your dollar that you got on the mainland, but this was perfect for us and I would go back in a minute. The staff had great suggestions for dinners out, short hikes to sights nearby, and arranged laundry for us after our Macchupicchu trek. The room was great, if in need of a few small repairs to cracked tiles, etc. Beds . The location is good, couple of minutes walk to The Port and the main area of town. The room was spacious, very comfy bed, good bathroom with hot water. Hotel Fiesta is located near the main street in Puerto Ayora, with a friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, a wonderful patio with a pool and relaxation areas, and HOT WATER. It was a bit expensive, but for those who can afford it, it was worth the extra money. It is close to everything a traveler could need...supermarket, trails, the water taxi and inter-island pier, shopping, food and bars. They also let us check in at 8am after a long boat ride. The front desk was very helpful with directions, tips and calling taxis. We stayed 3 nights at the hotel. Staff members were very nice. Clean rooms. Not too much was wrong with this hotel although I feel that they are a little bit too expensive compared with other local options of similar standard. Also, too many tiny ants inside the room! Although I'm not sure how one would combat this issue given the proximity to a thriving Eco-system. They couldn't provide an early check-in, though it's understandable. They should clean the pool more often and a microwave and a small fridge would help. Would have liked a clock , coffee pot , and tv that was a little larger or closer to eye level. TVs were really small - I didn't watch the TV but if I had tried I think it would have been difficult Also, the hotel is in town but about a 5 min walk off town center. There are no street lights so when dark the walk is a little scary. Slow in-room wifi. It was fine close to reception but slow in room. Maybe it was because of the location of our room. Air conditioners would be nice compared to evaporative cooling but I can understand they are expensive to operate. The hot water on the sink didn't function, but the water is pretty warm so it wasn't a big deal. There was a bit of construction going on but nothing that was inconvenient. The first room we were given was old and had a "small" double bed although we'd booked for a large one. The breakfasts were fine, but no buffet and the set menu was boring very quickly. No internet, Very old airconditioner, works loudly, Bed was short and detached from the wall, impossible to lean, No chair and table in the room, Pool chairs (only 4 exists) were dirty and very old, Broken toilet flush, Too expensive, ripp off. Wi fi does not work in rooms Looks and feels worn Small room Tacky picture of copulating iguanas over bed. (does not get you in the mood!). Staff only Luke warm. The whole place needs some work. It is pretty tired. Cabin #6 is least desireable. The units in the main building appear to be in better condition.
