The Palace Hotel is right in the middle of everything. It's close to the riverfront, shops and main tourist sites. The staff are very helpful, the rooms are comfortable, breakfasts are tasty and the airport transfers went off without a hitch. An excellent place to stay for a few days and explore Guayaquil. This hotel surprised me very pleasantly, the name is a bit pompous and location has bothered me, but it was great. The breakfast is very diverse with various dishes prepared on the spot. Is obvious that the supervisor and everyone on the team knows his work.
all reviews » Friendly and helpful staff. I needed a sim card the first day of my stay. The receptionist, Estefania, went with me to Claro to assist me as I don't speak Spanish well. Comfy beds, location, double glazed windows, good wifi. Close by to main streets, river, iguana park and cathedral. 2 nights was enough for us. A very nice place to stay downtow, excellent location to many attraction, staff very helpful, a great room to recharge your energy. The staff were very kind and worked with non-Spanish speaking folks well. They were always concerned for our safety and comfort. Everything was new and very clean. The best was fabulous. Great restaurant. All the staff I talked with spoke English. Friendliness of the staff, my stay was very comfortable. I will definitively recommend this hotel to others. Good location--very close to the Malecon 2000. The breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly. The room was large and comfortable even with king bed there was lots of room for chairs and desk. The food in the restaurant very well cook and presented, Really, a wonderful restaurant. Quiet and clean rooms, quality staff, good and consistent wifi and reasonable prices. The breakfast is good and if there would have been coffee all days, if would have been even better. It is located right in the center, so conveniant for business. I am not satisfactory with anything. the location is too bad, too crowded. i will never choose to stay in this hotel again. Two things I did not like. 1. Chicken sandwich that I ordered with room service was tasteless. 2. With computer I had Internet, but when I was in bed with the tablet had a good signal. On the last night of my stay there was a loud party in the room next to mine that went on until 4 am. I couldn't sleep. Hotel security seemed powerless to put an end to it. Strong smell of the cleaning products used. Nada!. It was a holiday in Guayaquil and the traffic around the hotel was terrible. No fault of the hotel. There was nothing that I did not liked. Nothing to complain about. Bathroom cramped. Cleanliness very poor. Not much, everything was what you would expect. The "Watch Your Step" 6 or 7 inch drop off from the sidewalk to the front door. Very dangerous for us older folks with poor eye sight. Some rooms (above restaurant) don't have access to outside when restaurant/bar is closed (until about 8am), which is not only inconvenient if need to go outside but also dangerous in case of fire as all doors are locked. WIFI worked only about half the time. The rooms did have a very strange smell and as the walls are as thin as a curtain, you hear everything from the other apartment - not so good if the neighbour is watching tv until early in the morning. The surrounding of the hotel is rather shaby and someone might feed unfonfortable with the scenery. Location is too crowded. not so clean not well organized.
