The champagne and the smile if the staff when you arrive makes the stress of driving in Santo Domingo go away, everything I asked was responded in a simple comprehensive way, very nice attention to details, the complementary breakfast is very nice. Most impressive, the staff was very accomodating and friendly, even when I had accidentally booked a single room for 3 people. Otherwise, the rooms were pretty, comfortable and clean with plenty of bottled water. Breakfast was delicious.
all reviews » Location, the fact that they have a parking, is really close to Plaza España and Plaza Colon. Close to restaurants. The staff was nice and professionals, and even when is not a luxury hotel, is really nice. I've had pleasure of staying @ the Hodelpa for the past eight years. The staff is wonderful especially Jovannie and Ramon they're like family. I would not stay in any other place. The staff. Very friendly. The rooms were small but comfortable. People were accommodating. you have to pay for drinking water in the room, the wifi signal is very poor, the bed was extremely soft in the middle, so my husband and I went to sleep in each side pf the bed but woke up smashed in the middle. This is probably out of the hotel's control, but the local merchants aggressively approached us every single time we left the building. Rooms were a bit too small. But still ok. The shower fell apart. The bed made noise. We did not need the other small bed. I didn't understand about the optional maid service. I said no and they came in anyway. 1) Poor quality sound insulation - you may hear someone in the next room taking a shower (and sings there:))). n/a. Small room. Nothing. rooms are a little cold, no carpet, cold floor. Must spend more time with attention to cleaning baths. Hair many places not my own. Cigar Smoking on the terrace at breakfast. breads and croissants are not fresh Mattress not confortable. 1-Room & bedroom smaller than photos in ad showed 2.Bed matres BAD-I checked out for this reason 3-no chair in room or desk for bus. work 4- wifi didnot work-didn't matter-see item 3 5-not value for price paid-I moved and did 30% lower for better room. Rooms were small and unacceptable.
