Easily one of the most welcoming, helpful and service- oriented hotels we have stayed at. The owner/ manager and his staff went out of their way to make our stay in Dalmatia a most enjoyable and rewarding one. They provided insights on special places to visit (on occasion off the beaten track) and in some cases offered personal guidance and transportation to them. The hotel is new and spotless, and very conveniently located to access both the old city and the waterfront. We highly recommend.
all reviews » The customer service at Hotel Marul was superb. The receptionists were very welcoming when we came in, showed us around the hotel and shared insights/recommendations for dinner and activities in the city. One of the owners, Slavko, was especially helpful. He recommended 2 excellent restaurants while we were there and actually drove us to the restaurants himself. When we had to go to the airport the next morning, they made sure we had a taxi ride ready to go. Overall, excellent experience, I wou. Its à hôtel definetely going for 5 stars. I havé seen à lot of hôtels around thé world and this one has an excellent standard. 5 stars for: localisation - in thé old center,10 mins walking from thé beach,street well connected to roads to bosnia or Monténégro,its own parking, thén 5stars for cleaning,basically you can it from thé floor, and 5 stars for the service, Slavko,Simon are hélping you to move around, giving lifts to thé best beaches or with car renting to visit outside split. I definete. The staff were exceptional. They arranged for a car to meet us at the ferry and to take us to the airport the next day. The receptionist, Iris, recommended an excellent restaurant within easy walking distance from the hotel -- I had my Mom who is 80 with us and we had a walker/wheelchair -- we easily managed the walk through the pedestrian district. The hotel is located on what I would describe as the quiet side of the palace. The showers were accessible and they had an elevator. The owner of the place is incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped us park the car show it is the best places in town restaurants bars placed a great evening wonderful addresses really. Croatian people are very friendly, but this guy is wonderful. Everything is brand-new in the hotel and very clean. The bedrooms are beautiful. The beds Are dressed like for your honeymoon!. Very warm and friendly customer service. Very kleand and nice place to stay. Also, hotel owners are fantastic persons. They gave us a lift to a ferry and recomendatet some places in our next destinations. Nice place for people who love to stay near Split central with decent services. The hotel ticked all my essential boxes: a quiet comfortable room, good beds, good bathroom and shower, quiet efficient air-con, nicely decorated. It is also just on the edge of the main tourist area which is an advantage as there are nearby shops and cafés that aren't touristy. Location was excellent for exploring the city. Hotel was very new when we visited so everything was spotless and very modern. The receptionist was friendly and informative and the owner was extremely helpful and offered us very good advice on our trip around Croatia. Staff were VERY friendly (best staff we've come across over the past 5 years travelling through Europe) and accommodating. Close to main promenade and old town. Free upgrade of room. Nice decor and rooms. The hotel room was large and spacious, the bathroom and shower was first class, the bed large and comfortable. Our reception lady was fantastic, attentive and very helpful. She had red hair and we never got her name. The hotel is being refurbished and remodeled, so many parts are still under construction. Room clean, bed very comfortable and very near to the palace. It would have been helpful to have had continental breakfast service available on the premises. However, several cafes and bakeries providing this are located nearby. Nothing serious,just à cofee machine on thé floor would be nice for mornings. Can't think of anything bad. At the time of our visit, there wasent any breakfast yet, because the whole place was just opened and there were still some working going on. But lovely receptionist recommindatet a best breakfast place in Split just 5min of wlak. Nothing significant. I stayed in a 5 star up the coast after this and in comparison Marul was perhaps a bit pricey for this level of room but my impression is that good accommodation in Split isn't cheap, so I'm pretty happy with it anyway. Oh, and the entrance is on Kninska Ulitsa, not the address given. Just so you know!. We got a free upgrade to superior room BUT be aware there is only a bath in the main room so if that's not your kinda of thing then avoid this room. There normal rooms are lovely. Also don't use the address given by Booking for Satnav, use the Long & Lat. The hotel is very difficult to find, it is on very small alley, and nobody we asked knew where the alley was. The parking facility is close to the hotel, but is not included. The biggest problem in my opinion is that there is NOTHING in the hotel to drink nor eat, not even bottled water! Nor in the room, nor in the whole hotel!. Nothing, we loved everything!. The price is somehow over rated taking into account that they don't offer a breakfast. Due to its central location the hotel is difficult to reach by car. The hotel needs a signboard outside because I walked past the hotel without noticing it. We didn't have any problems. small sized room. Too bad the breakfast and restaurant wasn't up and running yet & also no hooks in the bathroom for wet towels etc. Shower area does not have a self for toiletries.
