A lovely place to stay! Took the bus from Sobra, very cheap and the bus driver dropped us right outside. The place is on the bay, so easy to reach by boat as well. The bay itself is stunning and the room had a balcony with a wonderful view - make sure you request a balcony with evening sunset views though and if you're lucky you might see some dolphins! The room itself was a good size with a double bed, bathroom, kitchen area, separate sofa/mini lounge and balcony. Air conditioning and wifi als. all reviews »
Our balcony was set only a road's width from a beautiful cove. Polace is a very small village with just one road, houses on one side and moorings on the other, at the entrance to the national park (though I would reccomend driving a few minutes up the road to save a bit of a walk to the lakes) so I simply cannot explain how good this location is. The room has a fairly basic feel to it, but everything was new, clean and worked well. There was a small but well equipped and adequate kitchenette.
Our hosts were very friendly even prior to booking, and provided us with
an air conditioned apartment after we had booked an alternative in
error. Great no-frills accomodation. Clean and comfortable. The location
is perfect with a sea view from the balcony. Good shower with always
enough water and nice kitchenette area. Bikes are available to hire for
a much cheaper price than anywhere else on the island and we were able
to leave our bags on the last day so we could continue to explore. An
iron.
The apartment is in the most perfect location, especially for those with only a very short time on Mljet like us. Five minutes walk from the Polace catamaran from Dubrovnik. Free bikes, five minutes from the national park, close to lots of restaurants and right on the sea. throw open your curtains and there it is. incredible view. but most important ws how sweet, kind and fun Zeljka and her husband were. We had a slightly upsetting incident earlier in the day (nothing to do with the rooms!) and.
We stayed there almost 3 weeks ago and whenever I remember staying at
this place I find myself smiling. Lovely people, lovely place and
stunning views. It's like 5 minutes to the ferry port (Dubrovnik-
Polace) and the entrance to the National Park. And 15 seconds to the
sea (you can swim right there) The owner speaks perfect english and was
really welcoming, helpful and sweet. The room was perfectly clean, the
beds comfortable and the balcony amazing. If we ever go back to
Croatia, we'll defini.
We don't have words for this amazing vacations we had in Mljet, and how we loved the genunie way we were received. We felt like we were at home, or being received for that family we don't see for a long time...and that made us cancel our plans for the other islands, and stayed there two more nights. We highly recomend it, and we can't wait to return to this magical Island, and this amazing people!
It was very clean, the kitchenette was well prepared (we made all our meals there), there are 2 su.
Zeljka (the host) and her mum were really nice and made us feel very welcome with a lovely spread of Croatian cakes when we arrived, and her mum gave us some coloured eggs when we left! She made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful and informative. Even though the weather was not optimal we still really enjoyed our time in Mljet, mainly because of the peace and quiet, the natural beauty of the area, the friendliness of the people in Polace in general and the basic but comfortab.
The apartment was lovely, clean spacious and with a balcony that over looked the sea. For the cost it was exceptional. What really made it though was the family who ran the apartments. Friendly and helpful, they helped us sort out a fantastic speedboat transfer to Korcula and kindly brought our bags to Pomena so that we could stay in the National Park another day. Thank you very much for a fabulous stay!!!! The island is very beautiful and peaceful, especially after the exciting bustle of Dubro.
The hosts are incredibly helpful and welcoming (although they have very little English) The room is clean and comfortable, with a wonderful terrace.
There is great view from the terrace and it's excellent for breakfasts and dinners (you can use the kitchen downstairs) There are also pekara (bakery) and market nearby at a walking distance. The main port is also very close where you buy tickets for the National Park. I would definitely recommend this place for Mljet!.
We stayed three nights in a double room on the top floor with a terrace. The sea view from the terrace was beautiful and the room was clean. Our host was friendly and brought us some local liqueur and cake upon our arrival.
Polace is an excellent destination on Mljet - not as built up as Pomena, but with shops and a good range of high quality restaurants so that there is always something to do in the evenings. There is also a daily ferry to Dubrovnik in summer.
We enjoyed very much our stay in the apartment, particularly it's on the top floor of the building and facing the beautiful bay of the sea. Every morning we had our breakfast in the balcony and enjoyed the sun rising view and and in the evening, we had amazing view of the calm sea and mountain with colorful reflecting of sun set. Polace is located right in the Natural Park and a good and location to visit the different points of the park.
We were welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits by the lovely owners.
We were also offered an upgraded room at the same cost.
We had a balcony with a lovely view over the lake.
Ideal location if you are looking to visit the national park.
Local bars and shops on your doorstep but it was always peaceful.
We wanted to leave the owners a tip at the end of our stay but she wouldn't take it.
We had a lovely stay here.
Amazing place. Eat on the balcony and watch the boats come and go. Can swim right there too. Lovely apartments. Mine didn't have a kitchenette but there was a small but sufficient one downstairs. Helpful owners. Cheapest bike rental in town. Quiet. Short walk to ferry. Small shops and restaurants nearby. Can hike, swim, kayak, bike or just relax and enjoy--a perfect holiday destination.
Re the apartment: The view, the peace, the feeling of being (just) in a
real village not a tourist resort, the terrace, the little lunch
offerings which arrived whenever we were around, free bikes... The out
of seasons laid back feel.. Re Polace: great walking, wonderful flowers,
butterflies etc, swimming in the sea/lakes, empty roads, monastery
church and so much more ...
Radulj apartment was great. Nothing fancy but all rooms overlook the bay which was amazing. Staff went out of way to help. Was clean and nice kitchenette. Area out front had space for communal drinks at sunset and possible BBQ. It's not plush, but pretty decent and well looked after.
And Polače was gorgeous. The bay is perfect for sunset swims and woodburn grilled fish.
The view out from our balcony on the top floor was just stunning. It
was well worth the extra money! It really made our stay there. A
wonderful vista, and also enclosed with real privacy. The owners of the
apartments were just lovely. So friendly, personable and out to help.
Would recommend this to anyone appreciative of a simple place, but a
stunning location.
The host was very friendly and nice! She even let us use the bicycles for free for the entire day! Moreover the location of the apartment is directly in front of the sea! Just put on your swimming gear and jump straight into the sea for a cooling swim in the hot summer! Excellent location to just relax and take in the surrounding nature.
Great location -- the town is stretched along one road and this is at the far end from the ferry dock but still only a 5 minute walk. Very comfortable space, friendly hostess, air conditioner wasn't necessary because the windows are arranged such that you could get a cross breeze, and a lovely balcony overlooking the harbour.
The apt was clean and had an amazing view. It was on the main street. The owner Jelka was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly, informtive and helpful. The space was quiet and well maintained. Jelka went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her apts for an amazing stay on Mljet Island.
A very compact apartment with nice views. Not too expensive, but close to the National Park (30 minutes on foot through amazing forest packed with wildlife - a bus ticket is included in your National Park entry fee but we didn't use ours).
Great location, 5 minute walk from where the boat drops you off on Polace. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and big, and had a good kitchen with fridge etc. It also had a balcony with an incredible view.
Large and pleasant apartments; balcony with a view i each room. Host very nice and helpful. Location in Polace is good if coming from Dubrovnik, short walk from the boat to hotel. National park is 30 min away on bicycles.
Zjelca & Co. are excellent hosts very helpful. Exquisite location on Polače harbourside. Beautiful park and lakes to explore.Take a short hike up monto kuc if you're feeling energetic. Be prepared to relax.
Nice hotel, not so far from the national park. Owners speak English and
explained us everything. We were presented grapes. Recommended
restaurant Antika at the end of the port was pretty good.
Everything! The apartaments , the people who work in this place: always helpful, cheap bikes to be rented( the best option If you want to see the park), Miljet is a paradise!!!!.
Great owners, upgraded us to another room upon arrival!
Lovely view from balcony overlooking water
Spacious room with nice bathroom
Lots of information given about national park.
Friendly owners, really easy to find when coming off ferry to Mljet, cycle hire cheaper than all the people offering hire in town, beautiful sea and harbour view from balcony.
Friendly host, very clean basic and functional apartment in a fab location with gorgeous bay views. Close to harbour and boat from Dubrovnik plus nice restaurants.
Perfect location right on the seafront. Owner was extremely helpful and friendly.
Kitchen well equipped and beautiful view from the balcony. Everything we needed.
Moderately priced, spotlessly clean, useable kitchen with sufficient equipment, balcony perched above sublime view of bay, free parking, lovely owners.
Nice, simple and clean. Friendly people. Small town with a lot of sailboats mooring there at night. Close to the national park and not too many people.
Very friendly staff, beautiful and quite place. The apartment was well located, with sea view balcony and anything needed. Definitely worth the price!.
Very nice & welcoming hosts. Their own bike rental was much cheaper than anywhere else. They live on the middle floor, go there on arrival.
What a view from the balcony!
Very friendly, helpful and generous host (thanks for the tea and cake and the olive oil for our salad).
Great location, right near the ferry port and only 5 minutes from the national park. The view from every balcony is amazing.
Very nice location, great view over the sea. Very friendly host. Close
to the national park. Well equipped kitchen.
Frendly hostess. Swimming in clear water in front of the aparment. Excellent restaurans neaby. Car rental.
Great hosts, fabulous views, you can rent bikes from the hostel and really good value- good location.
- nice welcome with tea and cake,

- good location.
lovely staff and very clean, the owner could not do enough for us 1st class.
Very clean, comfortable, good mattresses. For us it was a very good choice.
Very nice staff.
Great location by the sea.
Local shops and places to eat.
I loved everything. The owners were very nice and the location was great.
The balcony
The bike available for free
The peace
The view
The location.
Very good value for money, nice view from the balcony.
Very mellow, relaxing, great for winding down.
I've liked everything to bits!.
That we couldn't stay longer as we had to keep travelling north!.
Poor WiFi signal in our top floor apartment.
That we couldn't stay there longer because we knew that the
apartments were fully booked and we had booked a place in another island
for the night after.
Everything was perfect!.
The problem with Mljet is that there is no public transportation; the only way to get around is by car and the car rental agency has some crazy prices. It would be great if the hosts could provide some transportation or tours for guests who want to visit the other side of the island.
Nothing.
There was no TV but it allowed you to enjoy the area.
Having to leave - the rubbish around the national park ticket booth and
beach area (several hundred metres from the apartment luckily).
The smell of the drains wafted about in the bathroom a bit - it was
manageable though with the window left open!
Those who had stayed in the apartment previous to us had clearly cooked with a lot of oil and hadn't then scrubbed the pans or crockery very hard - we found our cooking was somewhat greasy the first night!.
The wifi didn't work for us.
Slightly strange having the kitchenette and shower/toilet in such proximity. Also quite chilly at night when the weather's bad.
The wifi didn't work or didn't reach our room which was a bit disappointing. Not a big deal though and probably easily fixed.
That we had to leave.
If you are going to come to Polace not in the morning or late evening
(E.G., we came at 4 pm), please inform staff of the hotel, otherwise you
can not find anybody. Though for us it was not a big problem.
A little far from center of town.
Restaurants very expensive.. but delicious.
Nothing.
It was a great place for a quiet vacation but ALL the restaurants had the same menu. Grilled fish and meats: some variety would have been nice.
Nowt.
It was great.
Nothing really, small rooms so not ideal for long stays.
No sign on the house but owner was waiting for us after the arrival of
the ferry.
nothing!.
- limited warm water.
nothing.
Lack of air con.
Couldn't pay by credit card.
Nothing.
Bed and pillow are not great
Would be nice to have some oil, salt, pepper left in the kitchen.
Room a bit small but ok for a few days.
