The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good, although only served until 930 am. Steve the bartender is a really nice American guy and provided good advice on everything. The hotel is close enough to the beach and the town, and the pool was great as well. We really enjoyed our stay here, definitely recommend it!!. It is a place where you can relax and have fun at. Close to shops and places to eat and to the beach. These places are within walking distance. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Being a solo traveler I always felt safe. The rooms are clean and lots of hot water. I would recommend this place.
all reviews » The location was great, you could enjoy the pool, walk to town, hit the beach. The folks that run the place were friendly and informative. I did not want to leave. Great location a few blocks from the beach but that got us out to explore more. Great little hotel with good beds and great air conditioning. Having breakfast included was really helpful for someone on a budget. Beach was a 5 minutes walk away and there is a grocery store even closer in case you want water or snacks. Great hotel with with a beautiful setting in a park-like atmosphere to relax at the pool and bar. It is convenient to walk to everything in Tamarindo. Tamarindo is a pretty Americanized place so if you are looking for pura vida head to one of the amazing smaller beach towns. Tamarindo has good restaraunts and shopping. The hotel was very clean and updated and the staff very accomodating. I liked the illusion of privacy that the landscaping provided. The pool was lovely and the atmosephere very laid back and relaxing. Very pretty place, lovely garden, good restaurant (if a bit expensive) quiet location but walking distance of main town. There is a party on Wednesday that is the place to be in town. It's a lot of fun if you're aware of it, just know you won't sleep until after 1:00am that night, so if you don't like it, it may be good to stay elsewhere. Loved everything. I went in the rainy season and I found a need for bug spray/lotion for the legs. There was mold in the AC unit filter. It's the rainy season with low traffic so this is totally understandable. The problem was corrected immediately upon comment. A small refrigerator in the room would have been handy. Also, linking the restaurant to the hotel bill would have been convenient. Breakfast was repetitive, could have done without the powdered scrambled eggs every morning!. Pool on small side for the number of guests. Major building works going on on two sides for the next six months or so so maybe best avoided until these are finished. The room walls were very thin and we could hear all the noise from our neighbours the first night, but the owner offered kindly to switch us room the next day. The mosquito abundance and need of phone or small refrigerator.over all clean and spacious. staff was rude nothing to eat on breakfast. They clearly had not cleaned our room before we came. There was sand in our beds, unchanged sheets, and smears of dirt on the blankets. It was pretty disgusting. They had pulled everything up on the beds and "remade" them without replacing anything. I'm low maintenance in general, I'll stay in hostels, no problem. But there is no replacement for being clean, and nothing worse than trying to get by without it.
