Hotel Campo Verde was way beyond my expectations from the first moment at the front desk to the last moment as I pulled away a couple of days later. Frankly, this place was too good for my needs (which tend towards simple and cheap). I had to change my trip mid-travel and booked online based on the reviews. But I've learned that a night or two of elegance in the middle of a long journey is an important respite and Hotel Campo Verde did not disappoint in any respect. And the price was more th.
all reviews » We loved it all! This family owned and modern hotel was perfect. Our cabin was immaculate, beautiful views (even if Arenal is covered in clouds) and the beds very comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the reception staff speak and understand English very well, the breakfast delicious, and the grounds amazingly beautiful and serene. They share with you the history of the family who started the hotel, their personal experience regarding the volcano, plus history of the area. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the Arenal Volcano and just 10 minutes by car from La Fortuna! From our cabin and the private porch we could enjoy amazing views of the volcano and the green countryside. The cabins are spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff of the hotel is friendly and helpful and we found the home-made breakfast quite nice. Definitely recommended!!!. We liked great view of the volcano. Also the hotel was surrounded by beautiful flowers, some are marked, as if like we are in botanical garden. Because of these flowers many birds were attracted and that itself was very nice feature of this hotel. Our room was upgraded because of a minor plumbing problem. 11 very pleasant cabins in this compound and appropriate good breakfast. The view of the volcano when the clouds cleared was breathtaking! There were many "now you see it, now you don't" moments. Also, the staff couldn't have been friendlier! Breakfast was delicious, too, and I liked the cute cabin. The location is perfect. It's very easy to get to all Arenal and La Fortuna activities from Campo Verde. The view of our surroundings, with Arenal Volcano looming in the background was spectacular. Loved sitting outside in the evening on our veranda. The receptionist was very helpfull & informative; she made you feel welcome. Breakfast supplied in the morning was excellent; giving us a chance to enjoy a Costarician meal. We were traveling with a single friend and all three of us were quite impressed with Hotel Camp Verde. Clean, with a modern bathroom and terrific view of the Arenal Volcano. Breakfast was good, and the staff were wonderful. We would definitely stay there again. The staff were incredibly nice, friendly and helpful. The location is great and the views from the rooms are really special. Additionally, the rooms and bathrooms are big and spacious. The coffeemakers in the room make a nice touch. The location is just amazing. You get a beautiful view at the volcano. The hotel is placed in a quiet environment, so you can enjoy the nature a lot! The hotel is also not too far away (by car) from arenal observatory to do some hiking. great place, with amazing views of the volcano, nice grounds, and spacious, architecturally charming cabins. we had cabin 10 and it rocked! i highly recommend it and it's a great value as well. The wifi service could be definitely improved. The walk to our cabin could have been lit better. It became quite slippery in the rain. The only thing is that you need your own transport if you stay here as it is approx 15 mins by car to town. the breakfast was lackluster and reading lamps next to the bed had horrible light bulbs. It is not at walking distance from La Fortuna (which is very touristy), you need to take a taxi for 10$. Not many restaurants close by. You need some luck with the weather to actually see the volcano. Our checking in experience was poor, with information given too fast. The staff at breakfast were patient despite their lack of English and our basic knowledge of Spanish. breakfast portion is pitiful small, but given the price I cannot complain much. No dislikes. The weather didn't cooperate very well. It rained most of the night. strong foggy day, but it's not the hotel's fault. Nothing we didn't like. Nothing. Could do a whole lot to renovate the bathrooms. A separate shower area for starters. That is a very basic amenity. very poor sound insulation. can hear neighbors tv, and a lot of sounds outside. The only thing which would have made this wonderful place more delightful and make a better impression on a first time visitor, is have the drive way smoothed out. It was extremely rocky as you entered.
