A great hostel just down the road from their sister hostel. 5-10 minutes walk from the Bell tower and central sights. Very helpful staff and free tours and activities every night arranged by the staff. We did the tour to great goose pagoda with the fountain show which was loads of fun! Good breakfast and reasonably priced food, great bar atmosphere too in the evening with live music. We stayed on the second floor and couldn't hear the bar at all. Some noise from the street but to be expected. A.
all reviews » A great backpacker haven (a welcoming bar area with wifi serving beer on tap, hookahs, and western food) that also provides the comforts and cleanliness of a no frills budget hotel. Location is very central within 15 minutes walking distance to the Bell Tower, subway station, and Muslim Quarter. The staff helped plan our Xi'an visit, while a lot of travel info is also posted in the common areas by the staff previous guests. The hostel was on of the best I stayed, very friendly stuff, spoke good English. They had some nice activities for free (tour to the watershow etc.), and also organised other tours, quite handy. The twin room was a hotel standard. Their coffee was amazing, UK prices though. Also, they had live music at the bar almost every night, a fun place with cheerful guests. the bar at the hostel reception is really ood for socialising and meeting other people. the beds and rooms were really comfortable and spacious with enough room for socialising in the dorms. great location close to everything within xian! recception staff can speak really good english. great food served at the bar. rooms: excelent, clean, each bed have a lamp and electricity exit. location: close from drum tower and muslim tower. tours: good prices for visit terracot army and other places.personal:have a good english. road from railwai station to hotel by taxi 13 yuan's. The truth is the best hostel in Xian. is beautiful in all its aspects. excellent location, have an amazing beer bar, the decor would be like an English pub. The floors in our room weren't the cleanest, but for hostel prices, we can hardly complain. Room lighting is a bit dim; some may be bothered by the absence of an elevator for the 4-storey building. The food and drinks at the bar were way too expensive for a hostel, as I said, UK level. the bar was very expensive for beer! and the staff would try to deter giving correct advice for how to get to the terracota warriors in an attempt to get you to take the tour. dont - look online!. has no elevator and had to climb two flights of stairs with luggage. I would advise the hostel to give route directions with the reservation confirmation instead of only the address. Now the route directions were on the map that is provided by the hostel; not of much use anymore then ;). Nothing major to complaint about. the breakfast was not so friendly-budget. No wifi in the room. In the room there were lots of notices about the cost of breaking items in the room-made it feel they were out to rip you off a bit. You can't pay by international credit card, that could have been made clearer on the booking confirmation email so we could have had the cash ready,. Nothing. No elevators. The prices of the bar are quite expensive, specially the breakfast. I went with my parents, their room was on the 3rd floor.No elevator, and seemingly more stairs than there should be. Not their fault, but be aware it's impossible to get a taxi anywhere in Xi'an these days. I always had to take those stupid bengbeng che. The only bad thing about the hostel was that I had to leave it to go home :(. Walls are quite thin so you can easily hear people in the rooms around you. We had a room on the first floor where the music from the bar was heard very loud. It is located next to pub, if the door is open, some noice can come to room. Would not accept overseas credit cards,or money exchange,stairs a bit of a challenge for an older traveller,we are both in our mid 70s . A little hard to find, not even the taxi driver could find and had to phone Hantang House for directions. The trip to the Huashan with the hostel, we paid 100rmb for the tranportaton and the tour guide, but the guide was not with us on the bus, and the transportation to the Huashan mountain was more like a promotional trip with a stop in a shop and restaurant and this wasted a lot of time which could have been used for climbing the mountain. No elevator to carry ones bags to upper floors; no toileteries, napkins or clothes' lines for drying clothes. No toiletries, bring your own. No wifi in the room. Location hard to find, no elevators. Was all good. Expensive cafe,cake. No place to socialise (bar wasn't suffecient) No dryer, and would dry clothes outside, so they would reek of oil and food when you got them back. No elevators for tired legs (but good exercise!). A lot of stairs to go up to the room. Tour to Huashan was a waste of time and money, they took us to a Chinese tour going for a shopping show and stuff. We were supposed to get 7 hours in the mountain and we got less than 3... No facilities to take cards for payment. The heating had broken on the first night (during winter), although in response the staff gave us an extra duvet and free coffee in the morning. The entertainment in the restaurant bar was too loud made it hard to sleep. Not internet in the rooms. Ans also poor wifi in the lobby. The price of food and drink was much to high and they did not allow food or drink to be brought in. Only expensive imported beer in the bar when we were there. Nothing !. steps to 4F. No wifi in rooms. The music from Jamaica Blue Bar is too noisy, if your room is on the first floor.
