Lovely interior design -- modern and clean lines. Front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful and gracious; they even arranged to have a small tart delivered to our room to celebrate my birthday! Breakfast buffet had a nice selection of foods and cooked-to-order eggs each morning. We had the River View Suite and there was no traffic noise (16th floor) though we did keep our windows closed. all reviews » The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Concierge, Nicholas knows everything. He provided excellent recommendations for dining, made the reservations and provided directions. There are great dining options close to the hotel. The complimentary tea and coffee and cookies in the lounge 24 hours was a god -send after a day out in the Shanghai heat. The breakfast range was extensive and plentiful. The hotel is spacious, well-serviced and very comfortable. the view onto the bund and acro. We loved our stay at Les Suites Orient. The staff were so helpful providing us with detailed information, map, directions etc for cultural sightseeing and the best shopping. The were polite, friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel room was luxurious and also well set up for our young baby and toddler - we were provided with 2 beautiful cots on roller wheels and with lovely bedding. We look forward to returning to this hotel again next year - very happy memories. Absolutely everything. The location was good. The staff receptionist was very kind and her English was English. It was not bad, although for some travellers it may be a minus. Concierge service was also on the top level. Corner room(1207) very small for 2 people with 4 bags--luggage storage bit of problem. The hotel is quite a long way from the Metro and we had heavy bags so it was quite a schlep to get there. When we left we took a taxi and that was very sensible. Nothing. Best hotel experience I have ever received, no complaints. I do not like the furniture in the guest room. No bar (no gintonic..) no restaurant, very few restaurants in the neighbourhood. Actually, it is a 5-star bed and breakfast.. Too hard to find - no taxi driver knew where the place was! No BAR!! No BOOZE!! No smoking in the restaurant... Wierd layout of Reception/Dining Room etc... No much comes to mind, only little niggle would be the light in the cupboard above the mini bar... Couldn't figure out how to switch it off and became a bit annoying when trying to sleep. Too dark! Can't see very well in the room. Staff almost don't speak english!. Gym was quite small for a 5 star hotel. For the price would have expected a bar with happy hour. a bit dark in areas, too much music and no bar which is a big dissapointment. The basic suites are risky, a large number of them actually face a wall and are quite small. Breakfast is OK, but when the hotel is full, it's chaotic. No bar (under refurb?). Internet connection was poor, disconnects regularly and slow. Breakfast has limited items. There are separate tables in the restaurants but not so many. When those tables are full, you will have to sit on a very big table on which many guests sit with u... This was not suitable for us. Nothing. Nothing. The description on the website letsbookhotel.com about rooms studio does not match the description "Offering views of Shanghai skyline", actually is for interior views. Wifi very slow.
