Booked in for a for a standard room and because my birthday was the following week, I was upgraded with a suite, and given wine and chocolate. Wonderful gesture, but as I had a 1am flight, wasn't able to take full advantage of staying the night. It will definitely be the hotel I stay in while in GZ. The staff was just fantastic and more than accommodating. Yang Yang at the entrance gave us a true 5+ experience. The room was always cleaned to perfection and the minibar was complimentary and the breakfast bufe seduced us back every single morning. We truly reccomend this hotel.
all reviews » Breakfast Free shuttle to Canton Fair Friendly bellboys Location (in a 15min walk you can reach the metro station and a 20min walk you can reach downtown. It is only 20min drive from Canton Fair) Surrounding area is also good for shopping. Close to train station. Plenty of food choices within 10 min walk. Nice and spacious lobby. The hotel is a bit outdated. Liked the hotel so much compared to others in Guangzhou. Elevators, they have only 3 and quite a wait. Internet is VERY slow. The breakfast, the bed (too hard). VERY VERY slo internet. Hotelbar is not cool, but not inviting. Breakfust is expensive comparing room cost. A little far from city center. no free WiFi in room. nothing. The room was cold and the heating did not work properly. Hotel is fairly old needs refurbishment, rooms have old carpets need replacement. Less people speak English. nothing. The booking is with breakfast but the staff claimed the booking is without breakfast. If can refund the breakfast by way of vouvher will be very much greatful. On checkin they froze a huge amount (3x the booking) from my credit card, which caused me a lot of problems. Dirty, worn carpets in the room. Poor quality food in the cafe for a 5 star. It took forever to get a taxi from the hotel. Room a bit oldish. Not so well located as quite far from metro station and taxi difficult to stop. My reservation was for superior room but it was so small and less than standard rooms by all means. $200 per night for such a room is too much. very old hotel, 20min waiting for seats on breakfast..
