The ywca Garden hotel is a gem. It is a beautifully renovatedtraditional Chinese courtyard dwellingl occupying a central a locationliterally a stone's throw from the north end of the pedestrianisedsection of Wangfujing. The staff are remakably friendly and helpful. Thepersonalized service one gets is a world away from that found instandardized international hotels. The small courtyard re-creation was nice, looks a bit new (we could still smell the paint :) ), but it's still charming. The staff is very attentive and it was a great place to stay.
