We stayed in Beijing at Xiao Yuan Alley Courtyard Hotel for 3 nights. It is lovely small hotel in Chinese style. It is very friendly, pleasant, comfortable and cute! It is situated in an old Beijing district Hutong, which is probably the only bastion of traditional Chinese climate left. It is situated max. 30-minute walk from the Forbidden city. The nearest 2 metro stations are approx 10-minute walk from the hotel. The taxi from the airport to the hotel cost us 70 yuans (according to a taximet.
all reviews » Featuring charming, ultra-helpful English-speaking staff; the Xiao Yuan Alley hotel provides comfortable beds and good facilities, with a superbly located downtown hutong (Beijing alley) location, sensibly priced organized tours (if you wish) and excellent and very reasonably priced food available inside and nearby outside the hotel. And it's a very affordable place. I very much want to stay at this hotel again. I get happy just thinking about it. Highly recommend. Nice hotel. Daily cleaning and imperceptibly. Very comfortable rooms. Contingent decent, no noise. Always affable administrators with knowledge of English. The convenient location. Tiananmen Square 15 minutes by taxi, as well as many other attractions. Cafe on the 2nd floor is poor. Very long wait, poor service, not great food. Better have elsewhere. Noice of water could be annoying, but for me it is the best way to sleep. The walls are pretty thin, so it got a bit noisy at times. some of the things in the hotel room was broke when we arrived. Wi-fi connection is a bit weak in our room, but still acceptable. having to come home!!!!!!!!. The restaurant service was far too slow and the food was prepared somewhere else. We only had breakfast there and both the food and coffee was good once it arrived. My room was smelling bad. location a bit difficult to find even for most taxi drivers. Security of room door lock. Slow internet.
