It is a GREAT location for walking the city, shopping, sight-seeing etc. It's very close to walk from the train station. The Tourist Information Centre was only a few blocks away, from where one can do the hop on/hop off bus tour of the city. It's also a pleasant walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. One block from The Bay and every other store imaginable is close by-loved it! It's very quiet inside-no traffic noise. I really appreciate the included Continental breakfast and the no fee for cancel.
all reviews » We liked the spacious junior suite, all the staff, the convenient location, the cleanliness, the reasonable price, the breakfast room, the pool and the rooftop "lounge" area. I could walk right down to the big department store, Hudson Bay, and to a cvs pharmacy for anything that I might need to pick up. The people who cleaned the rooms did a perfect job. It was very handy to have the kitchenette. It was also good to have laundry facilities right off the gym. We found this place on the Internet . The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was huge! (411). It felt more like an apartment then a hotel. The breakfast room was large, and had lots to choose from. The pool was great for children(a little small for adults) but the gorgeous wrap around outdoor rooftop deck could not be beat. It was right in the heart of everything. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and many sight seeing attractions. Chinatown, old Montreal, museums. Plus the Metro. My family would definitely. Very comfortable and spacious room, suited our family (3 young kids) perfectly. Kitchenette very well equipped, with oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Fantastic central location, right next to Ste Catherine the main shopping street and 5 min from 2 Metro stations and airport bus stop. Good quality breakfast buffet and a great gym and pool on the top floor with views over the city. Highly recommended. Le Square Phillip was perfect in so many ways:1) Location: We walked from the train station, walked each day to our conference at the Convention Center, walked to fabulous restaurants nearby. No taxis or metro needed! 2) Lovely, clean, elegant and spaceous room. 3) Quiet! 4) Wonderful roof top pool, gym and terrace 5) Useful business office 6) Helpful, friendly staff. We were given a free upgrade to a king suite - which was huge by any standard. We took advantage of the hotel's secure storage, which turned out to be standard bank safe deposit boxes kept behind two locked areas. The complimentary continental breakfast provided cereal and juice choices, as well as varied baked goods. All staff were courteous, cheerful and happy to help,. The room/kitchen are both spacious. One could easily cook there. The hotel even offers to buy groceries! The location is excellent for exploring Montreal. The roof-top: pool, terrace and gym are are nice touch. There is a self-serve laundry. There is a decent bar across the street and hidden in behind a delightful terrace and a great restaurant (Julien). Rooms were large and comfortable, with full living area and kitchen plus the bedroom, lots of closet space. Very convenient for a week's stay. Staff was helpful and courteous. Nothing that I did not like. The breakfast room, it needs to be larger or have someone there to flow the traffic of people through. It was too crowded and nobody really knew which way the food line was going so people where all over the place trying to get what they wanted. Nothing. Somewhat of a hard/not as plush bed. A lobby bar or bar in the adjoining restaurant would have been nice but not a big deal. Leaving!. The hotel is very well located for shopping and festivals; however, it's a bit of a walk to Old Town (10 minutes) when you have younger children with you. Breakfast room could have slightly larger with food laid out more spaciously. Sometimes felt crowded and bit of a rugby scrum. Go early for breakfast. Liked everything. The continental breakfast was limited, but great breakfast options are in the area. Not much. I wish the Tv's were digital, not analog. Hard to hear, that is, volume not as good as we would hope. Reception a bit problematic is some cases. The furniture is a little dated and the parking is quite expensive. Nothing. Mattress too firm. Breakfast was a little limited. The pool was a bit small and the temperature was a bit on the cool side when we were there. The sun deck was a nice way to warm up though as long as the weather cooperated. I didn't quite like the breakfast which is mainly continental. It will be good if they have a more variety or change every alternative day so that for those who stay for more than 3 days, they have at least a change of it. It will also be good to include basic food like hard boiled eggs and salads and hams. More towards an English breakfast at times for a change.Otherwise, by the fourth morning, I skip my breakfast. A bit spartan, old bathrooms, but good value. Aback of natural lighting in some of the rooms.
