This is a nice place to stay. Free and fast Wifi. Walking distance to the centre. Mall of Sofia 10 minute walk. Supermarkets and restaurants a short walk. Load of laundry is 3 euro. Private parking in the next street for 5 euro per day. There is no free public parking. Big clean room but tiny bathroom. Air-con costs an extra 1 euro per day. The location was excellent. The owner visited and gave us quite a bit of information. Gery who lives at Hotel Sofia Guesthouse speaks some English and she made coffee and tea for us each morning. She washed our clothes too (3 euros a load ). The kitchen is great though not many utensils. Great room ... everything very clean.
all reviews » Located in a quiet street just 3 minutes away from Serdica metro station. It doesn't look great from outside but it's clean and comfortable inside. Room and bathroom were big. The only thing we didn't like was the temperature in the bathroom, it was freezing because of a hole in the window fixed with a piece of plastic. Very friendly staff. Everything you could expect from a guesthouse : Very nice room, a fully functional kitchen, iron etc. Its location is great. Not far from the metro and lots of attractions nearby. Wifi reception is good and there are quite a selection of english language channels to choose from. The location is great. 15mi walking distance from Vitoshka street (main shopping area). Staff & furniture is great. The price is excellent ( for a place in the capital). Nice interior and lux in this on first sight unpretentious place. The apartment looks decent and has everyone one needs for a day or two. location privacy equipment. Chandelier in room. No bedside table or table of any kind in the room. No chairs either. Single bed blankets on a double bed. The facade is decrepit and will put many visitors off.We were told the government owns the building and so it cannot be repaired by the owner of the guesthouse. The stairwell is dirty. But the accommodation itself is very good. The facade of the building is really bad compared to what is inside though this is not the fault of the guesthouse. Hot water pressure is quite low considering the fact that the premise is on the groundfloor. Sometimes the water turn suddenly cold which I assume is the fault of the washing machine in use. But overlooking that, it really is a nice place. My mother did not have that problem because she took a shower in 9am. However, when I decided to take a shower around 10:30 am it was horrible. There was no warm water. It came in intervals. 10 minutes no warm water , 3 minutes warm water. The building looks horrible from outside. Do not pay attention to this, inside is very clean and luxurious. nothing for this price and location. Difficult to find, appartment in a little alley adjacent to a dead end street. Really old building. The rooms have no blind so we were waken up by daylight. Walls are thins and we could hear people talking in the shared living room and other rooms. Shower with no threshold so after taking a shower there was water everywhere in the bathroom (flooding the floor and on the toilets). Rather small common space. the building is not nice outside but not a big problem. The room was kind of small but adequate. There was no chair in room. It was a bit hard to find the entrance, which is on the side of the building. No dark curtains / or shutters to darken the room. The matress was very soft - too soft for my taste. difficult to find adress,old building from outside but from inside is renovated. Nothing. The mark sign of hotel was missing so a bit difficult to find. There was no free parking, even though on letsbookhotel.com the hotel mentions free parking. The parking is free inly during the night, one has to move it at 8 am or pay for a maximum of 4 hrs afterwards. Our room's door lead to a common area and we could hear that someone's always there. No possibility for card payment, even though the booking requires a card. It was too cold since the hostess didn't know how to turn on the air-conditioning for some time. Also, the staff spoke really bad English. it's was quite cold in the room. Hotel very hard to hind, kitchen not in the same building... My pillow was so large and very NOT soft that it was uncomfortable trying to rest my head on it.
