The staff was incredibly helpful, setting up a waterfall tour for us on the spot. They were also able to check us in early and allowed a late checkout, which was fantastic for our rather hectic travel schedule. The pousada overall was completely charming, and we loved the pool and restaurant that came with it. Overall, a really outstanding experience. Excellent location and beautiful rooms and establishment. Wonderful people at the desk and a charming city. The room was small, but very clean and modern. It was central to everything and a short walk to the boats for day trips to the islands and swimming. I would highly recommend the Pousada Do Ouro.

Important information to guests

Please note that all standards rooms, all superior rooms and some of the special suites are located in an annex building named "Vila do Ouro ". This annex building is located in front of the reception building. Guests must specify the desired bed configuration to the hotel, prior the arrival. The parking facility, with entrance on Fresca Street, has limited spaces that are subject to availability. According to the Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years of age cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. If the minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it will be necessary to present a written authorisation for the minor to check into the hotel. Such authorisation must be notarised and signed by both parents. All minors under 18 years of age also need to present a valid ID with photo, to prove their identity and that of his/her parents. This must be presented even if a minor is accompanied by his/her parents. When staying with the parents, a child under 6 years of age can be accommodated for free in a Suite. In that case, a valid ID for the child needs to be presented at the check-in, otherwise an extra bed charge will be applied. Please note that suites may vary in size and décor. Guests who wish to check-out before their reservation check-out will be charged for the total amount of the reservation. Baby cots can be arranged upon request and availability.

Travelling information

Please note that some guesthouse apartments are under renovation until 04/04/2012. The spa and sauna will be unavailable for use from 09/04/2012 until 03/07/2012, also due to renovations. PLEASE AVOID HIGHWAY RJ-165 (PARATY-CUNHA) Highway RJ-165 is one of the options to get to Paraty. If you travel by car, the GPS route will take you through the town of Cunha. However, this highway is in very bad condition and presents serious danger to drivers. A safer alternative to reach Paraty is the route via HIGHWAY SP-099 (TAMOIOS), going through the town of Caraguatatuba. You can check the complete route in Google maps.
