The hotel facilities was great. It has great views of the sea. Beira Mar shopping is right next door. The front desk was really helpful. We arrived early and the room was not ready and they told us it would be ready by noon, but actually called us at 11 and told us it was ready. Also, we asked for a smoking room and the first room they allocated was not very good (it had no outlet for the smoke, so the whole room was smelling). They immediately changed it and gave us a much improved room. Overa.
all reviews » The location is great. It is close to the Beira-Mar Shopping. Gives access to the main streets and roads that take you to the turistics points and beaches. The panoramic view from the room is awesome. You can see the sea and sunset. Just perfect. Very romantic. The breakfast was excellent, just like hotel staff. This is a very nice hotel and close to the centre of the city on the coast I like it much more then the Sofitel i stayed last year and the staff are much nicer. I will come back to this hotel. The room was very plain and bare with very little creature comforts, bathroom needs updating and toiletries are poor quality. One does expect more for what is charged, this is not a five star hotel. Breakfast is weak, very low quality ... food that you can expect from a low-end hotel. the bathroom is small, the noise from other rooms is really disturbing, the sound proofness of the room is really bad. You heard loudly when your neighbour did flushing the toilet, or doing activities in their room. The elevator did not work for couple of the times without any notice given by staff. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel the staff at the entrance of the restaurant in the evening were very snob and not cool they kept talking Portuguese loud and very arrogant ! The hotel is very noise and the towels were from another hotel and kinda dirty (and we had the deluxe room) my duvet had a big hole on it and it was ridiculous ! This hotel is very expensive for the poor service it offers.
