Hotel Herc was a really quaint hotel with a friendly staff. The location was really unique - while close to all of the action, it felt isolated because it was at the top of the hill. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They have good internet throughout the hotel. The breakfast was consistently good and felt more like a B&B than a hotel.

The location, so near to the old city, but up a hill where by going a little higher there is a superb view of the city and the surrounding mountains. The excellent value for money. The staff and the hostess at the reception were kind and speak a very good english. The position of the hotels makes of it a good point for visiting the old city by foot. Very good and suggested!!!. Staff facilitated that I could have a desk to work on in my room. Wake up call and taxi early in the morning. Bill could be paid the night before. Clean, non smoking rooms. Smooth!. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Not quite in the middle of the attractions but quite close to the city center, can walk to it. Business travelers might have an issue here because there isn't a space that is private enough for work calls outside of the hotel rooms themselves. It was also a bit hard to carry our heavy bags up all of those stairs, but we did it!. We took the trip offered to Mostar. It was good value and the car was excellent. However, it would have been even more enjoyable if our driver/guide had been able/willing to talk (in English, German or French) about our surroundings and the country, and had driven at a speed and in a manner which would have made us feel more comfortable!. It was not exactly 4 stars as announced but the standard was ok. Not possible to pay with card. they could do abit better on the breakfast, but it was sufficient;. Rooms don’t have telephone which makes difficult to be contacted from outside or to have the wake-up call. - bit complicated shower system. -The street leading to hotel is really really steep! -Rooms are small but you have everything you need. No closed parking possible. No curtains in the rooms. shower doesn't work properly, many choices only one works. Bad wifi in the room. We do not have towels in the first day.Hotel smells very bad. Smoking is allowed in the common areas. Although it is close to city center, it is on the ramp and hard to walk. Hotel was good but nothing special. the room wasn't made up; the breakfast was poor and one teapot was dirty; there was no remote-control to the air-conditioning therefore we have to open a window so we heard every sound from the street; acoustic of the hotel is so good that we heard every sound from other rooms. No elevator, and there isn't any help for carrying the baggage to the third floor. Direction to the hotel with a car is very complicated, suggest to have a detailed direction guide to the hotel. Room was tiny, plenty of bruises from corner of bed. Advertised power shower did not work. In fact they only accept cash which I've reported to letsbookhotel.com. The location is close to the city but it is right at the end of a 200m long 45' steep road. It will be nightmare to haul luggage up on uneven cobble stone surface. no air conditioning in the room despite announced on website,no curtains with blackout so you awake sooner than desired,too noisy in the room. Very dirty. Not very clean. Our room was not realy clean. The windows did not close in the room. All the frames were contorted. Breakfast was not good and small choice. Credit cards were not accepted. breakfast could be better, no credit cards accepted, position is central but you heed to walk approximately 100 meters uphill.
