I stay around 100 nights a year in hotels and have never expierenced something like the Rosario Hotel. In the middle of one of the roughest cities in the world you find such a peaceful environment with all the necessities you need before/during/after a long trip. Fabulous staff, great food, relaxing rooms, a well working Wireless, lots of information, an inhouse Travel office, peace, quietness and relaxation. All at a very affordable price.
all reviews » We stayed 3 nights. On arrival, we felt tired after a big day of travel, so dined in the restaurant at the hotel. Meal was great. The staff at the hotel spoke English and were very helpful. We were having difficulty with online bookings for entrance into Machu Picchu and the tourist desk helped. Arranged taxi to airport. Room clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Would recommend this hotel to other travelers. What a surprise when I got into the hotel and the room. It's a hotel that you really have to see!!! Im certain this hotel will be the first one I present on my homepage!!! Great friendly personell made me book several tours. Very good breakfast. Not long walk to reach downtown, or other interesting places in central La Paz. Enjoyed the hotel very much. Clean and tidy, conveniently located, hotel staff are sweet and helpful, all speaks fluent English. Services are good, they can even arrange breakfast if you depart at 5am. The restaurant is fantastic, value for money dinner with fantastic service. Actually, not many restaurants to choose from nearby, but the food at the restaurant are quite good. It is a very nice, attractive, well-kept colonial-like structure. LaPaz is a poor city in a poor country, and the hotel is a real break from that. The chef in the hotel's restaurant is excellent and the food was the best I had in LaPaz. Other than the credit card problem it is a lovely place to stay!. The staff were fantastic - polite and incredIably helpful. The room was gorgeous - great curtains that blocked out daylight. Beautiful setting, a hidden haven. Try and pick a room at the back of the hotel, and away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Everything!!! This place was great from our arrival in what felt like the middle of the night to the tour we booked to help with our onward travel!!... And the Food.... Yummy!! Ana and the rest of the staff were so helpful, cant recommend enough. The people were very attent, the hotel is very pretty and clean and they make you feel at home and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The location is in the city center which becomes a refuge for the chaos outside. Helped us to escape at 4 am from sealed city of Puno /due to streik/ and gave support how to manage baricades on the road to Bolivia border.!. Some visitors may miss an elevator, but personell are helpful to carry the luggage if you need it. The hotel has got to work with the bank to get their credit card problem resolved. At 4:30 AM we had to go out and find an ATM and withdraw quite a bit of cash that we didn't really have. We had counted on using the credit cards and were unable. That is a huge negative issue for me. Main Restaurant was closed but food in the internet cafe was still amazing!!. Too many stairs. Slightly pricey for La Paz if I had to nit-pick but totally worth it. Not the best location but still within reasonably easy walking distance. Shower was Luke warm but this I think is acceptable given the probable age of the plumbing. Temperature Varied depending on what time a shower was taken. Not a huge problem, everything else spot on. There was no wi-fi signal in our room, but we already knew beforehand that this could be the case. Nada. Nothing. Room was too noisy, especially in the early hours when people were arriving and departing. Nothing. The hotel entrance needs to be improved.make it green.stuff the frontage with lots of greens and flowers to make it welcoming . The location is great for seeing the city center, but with that comes a fair amount of street noise for the rooms facing the street. Shower curtain is too short so bathroom floor gets wet. Rooms should have a sheet with some basic info such as phone numbers, restaurant menu and hours, checkout time, etc. Being under construction slow hot water. Had to ask for hot water for the shower and was denied coffee after it ran out at breakfast even though it was well before closing time. The rude waiter said "you can have Nescafe". This is not coffee nor is it a good business model.......... Wifi went down a few times during our stay. We also stayed at Hotel Camino Real for a week and it never went down once there. They also have an excellent level of service. Nothing. Indigenous parade at midnight!. Nothing. Slow hot water. No elevator. Cold lobby ( possibly due to reconstruction works).
