The Ariane is a beautiful hotel we could not fault anything about our stay, in fact we have booked to return next year. We stayed in a family room which was very spacious. We traveled with our teenage daughters who are studying WW1 at school and they feel the trip has helped them with their studies. The location which offers free parking is ideal for Ypres with the fantastic Flanders Fields Museum and the evening ceremony at the Menin Gate. If you do not eat in the restaurant within the Arian.
all reviews » The greeting we received when we arrived was very welcoming - this 'set the scene' for our experience of the hotel. We had hired a car for our exploration of the area, so were very glad that there was plenty of parking space. The room was spacious and very clean. It was a very easy walk to Menin Gate and to the town itself! We have been traveling around Europe for a month & stayed in many hotels - the Hotel Ariane was one of the best. Thanks to the staff for making our two night stay so goo. I stayed in a number of hotels during my 2 week trip to Belgium but this was by far my favourite hotel I stayed in. Brilliant staff who were friendly and helpful and worked so hard as the hotel was busy. Great room and a comfy bed. We ate in the hotel restauraunt a couple of times and the food was superb. Good portions as well and we were not rushed in any way even though it was very busy. Located close to all the attractions and free parking on site. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We were warmly welcomed by friendly, efficient staff and given good information about the local area. Up to date, modern, airy feel to the hotel with ample free parking (no need for a car whilst in Ieper centre) and within easy walking distance of Ieper's places of interest. On Sundays the hotel's bistro is open til 8pm and the bar all evening but their restaurant is closed. We found it very helpful that on request the hotel was happy to email us a list of restaurants open on a Sunday evening. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. They facilitated us with a meal, even though the dining room had taken last orders half an hour before we arrived. The food was very good and served in a friendly manner. It was very convenient to the war memorials, which was I reason for visiting that city. We may return next year and would be very pleased to stay at the Ariane Hotel. It is also in a quiet location and yet only ten mins walk to the ctown centre. Has nice roomswhich are a decent size and have a/c. Didnt eat at the restaurant as it was a short walk to all those in the town square. You will like this hotel if you are doing a quick break to ypres. It is a family run hotel with hands on supervision.Servce is superb and the staff friendly. Their attention makes a difference. The restaurant is popular with local people as well as residents and it is an easy walk into town if you do want to visit the restaurants in the square. The rooms are excellent with tea/coffee making facilities. It is the place to stay in Ypres!. Good standard of accommodation and staff were very obliging and multi-lingual. They had actioned my request for a 'no pets' room due to allergies effectively. The hotel was quiet at night and was very near to Ipers centre with plenty of good places to eat and we could walk to the Menin gate with ease. Good parking at hotel. It's location five minutes from the town centre and within easy reach of the 1st World War sites was ideal. Lovely 4 star hotel tucked away but very near centre of Ypres. Particular mention should be given to the friendliness and helpfulness of staff on the front desk. Absolutely first class. The room was excellent, very clean and the breakfast choice was extensive and of good quality. Plentiful parking and near to all interesting parts of Ypres. It's a pity that the Ariane's restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening as it comes recommended. If in Ieper on a Sunday night it's best to check which restaurants are open and make a reservation as they get very busy. It was all ok. There is nothing to dislike. The restaurant was expensive. As the hotel is very popular, parking at the end of a tiring day can be problematic (and a little irritating if you have to leave your car at the roadside). In German hotels we stay in, allocated parking is the norm and this is obviously preferable. Also, motor cycles could be parked in designated bays, rather than taking up car spaces. All was good. Not really an issue for us ,but some people may not like the fact that the hotel restaurant is shut Sunday evenings. There are plenty of nice places to eat in the centre of town though. Nothing to dislike. Like everything!. Nothing. Parking busy at lunch times when people visiting restaurant. Does mean good restaurant though!. liked all. Nothing. The WiFi was free, but the fact you needed a separate password for every device and that the password had to be renewed every two hours was a bit of a pain!. The acoustics of the corridor that I was on meant that every noise outside the door was amplified, especially in the early morning. conversations and doors were very disturbing, There was no room to room noise, only from the corridor. Nothing. poor bedside reading light-on flexible arm that wouldn't stay in position. Nothng. Nothing. As I was a solo traveller I was booked into a twin room. I found the single beds very narrow. nothing. Nothing. Nothing to dislike about the whole package. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the food pretentious, very expensive and rather tasteless. We couldn't fault the hotel in anything. There was nothing to dislike. Some stains on carpet that could have done with cleaning, but otherwise it is my favourite place to stay in the area. It was a pity that Wi Fi was not available in the rooms. Try as I might, I cannot think of anything I did not like. Nothing.
