Excellent nstaff. Someone had been smoking in my room. The receptionist, Connie,did everything possible to get rid of the odour. She found and lit scented candles , opened windows etc. This was very impressive customer service. Although the offensive odour diminshed a little...it was effort tthat impresssed me. Apparently, the hotel has only 2 non-smoking rooms and it is impossible to police .
all reviews » I really enjoyed my stay at the Aviano Pension. The location is excellent as well as the staff. It is a bit hidden, but it is definitely worth hunting it out. Since it was snowing very hard when we arrived, we took a taxi from the CAT (City Airport Train) which made it easy for us to find it. Overall, it was was a great experience, and I would definitely return to this hotel.I really liked the Aviano -- staff were gracious and welcoming, and there were many thoughtful touches, such as a note on weather forecasts for each day on the breakfast table and a welcome letter with notes on recommended concerts and other events in the room. The location -- about two or three blocks from the Cathedral and other major sights -- was perfect. This hotel offers the possibility of a very nice stay in the very heart of Vienna. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are more than OK as long as you don't require the 4-star treatment, breakfast is good and more than I expected, and once again: the location is superb. Indeed, this hotel is -as it calls itself- "my secret home" in central Vienna. The location is wonderful as are the facilities. The staff is extremely helpful and available 24/7. Breakfast was fabulous. As recommended by another reviewer, ask for a room facing the courtyard to ensure night-time quiet. The staff where tremendously helpful and friendly. We also stayed at another site which was twice as expensive and we still enjoyed Aviano better. Great location. No, everything was well done. The bathroom is quite small. The hotel has no air conditioner. Therefore the roomy are very hot in summer. Parking is almost impossible. If you find one, you only pay 4,90 € per day. If not, you have to use the deep-level garage which is quite expensive (18 € a day). The breakfast room is a little bit too small.As it is one floor of a buisiness building and the area was undergoingconstruction, it was difficult to find. small elevator was difficult with large luggage, but manageable. Free laptop use was limited to browsing. I couldn't get a Remote Desktop Connection to my business where I could use Windows in English. Would have been nice to be able to transfer pictures from my camera to DVD or CD and of course having to use Windows in German with a German keyboard was a pain. The Internet cafes weren't much better and very costly in Vienna so I still appreciated it. I would suggest to change the curtains - in the morning the lightis very strong and somebody who is sensitive to the light willhave problems.Hard to locate the office upon arrival. Very poor sound isolation in the rooms. Following recommendations we took atrium-view room, so at least there wasn't any sound from the street.The pillows were very soft, too soft for me. I didn't mention it to staff so they didn't have the opportunity to rectify. Smoking hotel's guests with a smell in the corridor. Air conditioning would be nice, but might be hard in an old building. Itwas nice that there was a fan. No, although I suspect that in Summer, air conditioning would be needed for comfort - the small rooms become stuffy very quickly.Breakfast area was cramped, with difficult access to foodbar, and little space between tables. Lift was small and slow, but at least it worked well. Aviano was a little hard to find within its street as it is identified by plaque on door of apartment building, similar to other tenants, and while it is rightly called a Pension, one is sort of looking out for a hotel. Walls are too thin, you can hear to much from surrounding rooms. The breakfast choices were repetitive and unappealing. We asked for a non-smoking room, which we got, but other guests smoked in the halls and smoke filtered into our room frequently.The elevator was small and very slow. it was Euro Cup Soccer Final and the inner city was insanely noisy with screaming fans cheering until dawn for the entire week.Small hotel. Number of TV channels should be improved to fullfill the expectation of foreign customers.elevator for 2-3 people,front desk on 4th floor, no kleenex dispensor, no tub just shower, very few TV channels only one in english.

Reduced parking tickets for the Kärntner Straße public garage near the State Opera are available at the hotel. At your departure the fee of the pulled parking tickets will be booked on the hotel park card and then you are able to drive out of the garage. (If you stay longer than the card is valid, you have to pay the difference directly at the garage). Please contact Aviano Pension before arrival regarding travel and parking information. Marco d'Aviano-Gasse is a pedestrian zone and access by car is only possible up until the square Neuer Markt.
