I had the unfortunate situation of having a migraine headache on the morning we were leaving but had several hours to pass before making our way to our cruise ship. My fellow travellers went for a walk whilst I sat in the reception area. The manager after asking me if I had been "left behind" I explained my problem, she very kindly took me to a very quiet lounge room where I could relax & wait for my companions return before going straight to the ship. This lady's kindness was above and bey.
all reviews » Craig, the manager, was a treat and very helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of terrific views of the Opera House and Harry's Cafe de Wheels. They have a handout that provides lots of tips about how to get around Sydney and things to do while in town. It was our first trip to Sydney and we only could stay one day before heading to Tonga, but we will return someday for a longer stay and would definitely consider staying at Mariners Court again. The staff Jude, Richard and Craig are very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. The numerous food choices of the complimentary breakfast were scrumptious and beyond reasonable expectations. Each individual coffee is freshly ground and brewed before your very eyes. The sum total makes this hotel an exceptional bargain and greatly enhanced the wonderful experience of visiting the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia. You were flexible to my travel needs gave good clear information I loved your directions to places around your area and how to get there my room was warm when I got there when I left I woke you and you were still nice. I will come back to experience Sydney and I will stay at your place. Loved the gardens! Didn't get thd chance to enjoy my area will next time! Cheers!. Jude (on front desk) was extremely helpful & easy to talk too, I lost my phone while I was sitting in reception waiting for our room to be ready, the next morning when Jude came in I told him about my phone & he went looking for it straight away, it was found shortly after, now thats good service. Breakfast was very nice too, compliments to the chef. THe bed linens were amazing. The blanket/ comfetor was soooo soft love it. The contenental breakfast was great good varitey, and free. It was nicely located walkable to the circular Quay only 30min or so. Or quick train trip to most locations. The staff was friendly and helpful with tips for around the town. And called me a shuttle with no problems. Very helpful staff in reception. Large comfortable room with a refrigerator. Good breakfast. Great location as only 25 minute walk to Circular Quay through the beautiful botanical gardens with stunning views of Sydney. Very quiet at night which is what we needed after long haul flight. Good airport shuttle service to and from hotel. The helpful handout from the staff with directions into the city by foot (avoiding stairs), and from King's X station avoiding stairs. Very good, substantial breakfast included. Staff went out of their way to help us e.g. storing our luggage in the afternoon, searching entertainment and ticket availability, answering questions. Well-located. A little off the beaten path, so very little traffic or pedestrian noise. Easy walking distance to Botanic Gardens, Opera House, Rocks, several museums & points of interest. Very nice hot breakfast was included. Great shower, comfortable bed, and a neat little balcony for morning coffee & paper. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. While the included breakfast was pretty good, the two Espresso/Cappuccino/Latte machines were temperamental and, though we received several lessons from the staff, we never quite got the hang of using them :-). There was nothing we didnt like, it was all very good. Didn't like that the computer was only availabe till 8pm when staff left main room becuase I didn't even get back most nights till after 9pm. The 311 bus service nearby was problematical for 2 reasons.1. You couldn't buy a ticket on the bus (you could get a single ticket at the food shop nearby) but for a concession or 3day pass you had to go to the city. 2. It left from a different place in the city, which we never found, for the homeward journey. Rooms were a bit shabby/run down and only superficially clean. No WiFi, although computers were available for guest use during office hours. Not a complaint, but would have liked the use of keys vice keycards. Also, A/C was hard to work, and I could only get heat to come out of it. Only small thing would be to have a much harder bed as it was a little spongy. a bit outdated - built in the 1980's but has a good vibe to it. Nothing !!!!. Nothing. Although in a good location overall the side street on which it sits doesn't have a good feel. Although spacious & comfortable, the rooms could do with some TLC. Nothing. Whilst don't have any major complaints there are just a few things that this facility would benefit from:- safe in each room ALL ROOMS HAVING LOCKING DEVICE FROM INSIDE ROOM (one of the family rooms we had couldn't be locked from the inside. You had to open door and lock it with key, then close. somewhat inconvenient). No dislikes. the scrambled egg for breakfast was a bit overdone. Nothing to dislike really. none. The Beds are on Rollers and keep moving . No luggage storage after 3 pm. We had a late flight and we were invited to the guest lounge to wait. That is kind, but it is inconvenient that the reception closes early. Everything was perfect. Not much... Not much - generally very agreeable. the floor and rooms we were on "smelled" to paint- it had just been painted- and there was a strong paint smell. The rooms were quite small and simple. The breakfast was pretty simple. nothing. Room in 107 the door to the courtyard was broken and could not be opened. Noise is an issue if you are talking in the court yard it travels. The doona had stains on it. nothing. The easiest way to get there is to get a taxi. 9.59am on the morning of checkout we thought we heard a knock on the door but did not answer. So a staff member opened the door and was told five minutes. Within two minutes the same thing happened with another staff member. Surely you wait until the keys have been handed back in!. It is basic in terms of meals and rooms, but bed and bathroom is ok. Very close to surrounding buildings - a little noisey. No negatives.

Superb location, 3 and half star (AAA) plus hotel/motel located 200 metres from the foreshore of the Woolloomooloo Wharf complex. Within walking distance of the NSW Art Gallery, the Royal Botanical Gardens, Circular Quay and the Opera House. The city centre is approximately 1 kim. Tarrif includes a light breakfast and in-house movies. All rooms have en-suites.
