Fantastic spot, close to everything, 2min walk to shopping centre. Ideal location for a wedding. We planned to stay one night and extended to two. Nice BBQ area next to swimming pool. View is amazing. We also used the hotel restaurant one night and the service was good. Next to the hotel is two great places to eat as well. This small resort is clean , comfortable in a lovely location on the river and ocean. Port Macquarie is a charming town. The staff are very friendly, the rooms large and well appointed, the restaurant very good and the grounds very well kept. Obviously a well managed property. We had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay.
all reviews » The staff were very friendly,we had the best room wiith the pool right ouside our back door plus the hastings river. The shopping complex was right across the road as well as macca's for the little ones and for the big kid's there is a nice club. My partner's steak was to die for from the restaurant. I was with my adult daughter. The room was comfortable and roomy for two. The resturant experience was smooth and effortless staff were helpful. I like the location near the shopping centre and water views. It was my second visit to Sails and I am sure I will probably visit again. we had A great stay as we had to be central to panthers club as we were at an exhibition there of model ships. the meal we had at sails was very nice presentation was superb & the staff very attentive. hopefully all being well we will stay again next year. thank you sails. Location was great. The price was good. The staff were lovely. The restaurant was great. Bed comfortable. The coffee from help yourself coffeee machine, at breakfast was terrible, but the watress made us a proper one, thank you!!. The receptionist when we arrived was very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant, and the staff were friendly and efficient; the meal very good. As we stayed only the one night, we didn't use any of the other facilities. The location of the resort itself is excellent..just by the Marina.. and the staff were courteous, friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was well equipped and tasteful. The pool was lovely. Good shopping mall nearby. We were in an Executive Room, great location right next to the river, very peaceful outlook. Ate at 2 good local restaurants, Quaylime (next door) and Mykonos Tavern. Great walking paths all around. The staff were lovely and very helpful, especially as we didn't arrive until 01:00 am. The breakfast was fantastic and the view out the windows made it all so much nicer. Location was great quiet room 129. The bed was comfortable. I know you are about to refirbe Sails.The ambiance of sails was lovely please don't loose that. Staff were superb, so friendly and helpful. Ground floor access with no steps that enabled my elderly Mum to stay a couple of nights. Everything was great, the view from the room was great too but needs some repair on paved areas, could cause accident in some places. The quiet atmosphere and the comfortable room. It was also convenient to the shops and not too close to the busy centre. The pool, tennis court and the view from our king 'water view' room. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. The layout of the resort is good. Plenty of parking. Has a restaurant. Close to other facilities. We used the hotel twice for overnight stay during trip to Sydney. Suited our purpose completely. it was central to our needs,quiet and good for walking as the area is flat around the water. From checking in to leaving the staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Service was great. Vanity in room was cracked, other than that room was very good. The black hair on the sink which did not belong to either of us. It is very 'tired'. Needs a revamp. The gardens need a makeover & maintenence. There was bird droppings all over the balcony. The furniture on the balcony wasn't very nice. When they say 'kitchenette' in the ad, I would expect at least some crockery, cutlery & a microwave not just a kettle & toaster in the wardrobe. The lighting in the bathroom when doing your hair and applying makeup is always terrible in any accommodation. Your establishment was no different. Improvement in that area would be great. The next thing which you have no control over was the weather - it was abysmal!!!!. The walk into the centre was a little long, but that's the price one pays for the location of the resort itself. Receptionist at check-in (young girl) need more professional training. Lounge in the room was very uncomfortable. Food in spinnaka's very ordinary. Dish washer did not work. Spa is past it use by date. All rooms overlooking the water seem to also overlook the pool. Which means you have zero privacy, plus the sound of people at the pool all day. Balcony designs are terrible as not only do you have no privacy due to the pool, but you have no privacy at all from the rooms/balconies next door to you. Shower over bath. the shower seat could have been larger, was slightly uncomfortable with hitting back on wall. Some of the paintings, carpet and décor were a bit 'tired' but this didn't affect our enjoyment. Room are looking a little tired. Burn whole in the carpet. Internet charges, Poor bathroom ventilation. Lunch and dinner prices too high. Decor is old and faded but does not detract from comfort. Just one minor thing and not the hotel's fault - the shampoo sets supplied in the bathroom had silver foil hygiene caps on them that were impossible to remove - perhaps the supplier needs feedback on that?. It would be great to expect free Wi-Fi at this cost. Restaurant a little expensive for us which was disappointing. the mattress was a bit hard for our liking and the shower recess had mould in the cracks of the tiles. perhaps a lift for elderly people up to their rooms it was okay for us The restaurant was quite expensive in relation to the cost of accommodation. the airconditioning unit outside was quite noisy. Telephone call charges high. Coffee for breakfast was just awful. Restaurant service was good but food preparation and presentation need some attention. Kitchenette didn't have stove or oven but the staff lent us a portable stove. a better description of kitchen facilities would help. Breakfast bit over priced for z buffet but ok. Chlorine in the spa is too strong and we felt a bit sick. Wish we had had more time to spend there. All good. a couple of cockroaches. None. Shower over bath with shower curtain. Car not able to be located outside room but nearby in lit carpark. When I took out the kayak I missed the turn around the island and was lost in the bay for hours. I had to drag the kayak over the park st bridge road to get back into the water to find my way back . I was exhausted. I am 61. The island turn off I missed was a sandbank and I couldn't navigate it. I would have appreciated better directions when I left with the kayak and a map. The carpet was in need of replacement due to stained and looked frayed and dirty. We got a room facing the car park :( and it got a little noisy in the morning. What is there not to like about Port?. Nothing. Rooms look tired and of renewing but still liveable. Sometimes staff are hard to find. open air parking. Parking was not secure.
