We stayed in a king room with a bay view. It was most excellent. The staff was very friendly and even offered to carry our luggage to the second floor. We also enjoyed the pub and dinner. Also clear the owners are investing in some upgrades with new carpeting and some appointments. We did enjoy the quaintness of staying in a vintage hotel. Loved the place, surprisingly very spacious, brand new, modern and bright. The kitchen was so well kitted out, and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Port Fairy is such a little town, so the fact that they're not located right at the beach doesn't even count as a negative! A+!! we will come back for another weekend away.
all reviews » We both enjoyed our stay at The Victoria Apartments. We found the locality to be very central, only a short walk to anywhere in town. We could forget the car for a few days. The Apartment was quiet and comfortable. We will definitely stay there if we visit Port Fairy again. Comfortable, good quality furniture and fittings. Very comfortable bed in separate bedroom and comfy sitting room furniture. Ample kitchen utensils and good appliances. Also very close to wonderful cafes and short walk to river and beach. Good to have lock-up garage too. Please note (a) that the only staff we saw & spoke to were the man that checked us in and the woman who took the key when we left and (b) we were 2 elderly men on a sight-seeing trip (But not a couple). The unit we had was very comfortable with 2 single beds. Excellent facilities. Well-designed, attractive apartment. Very helpful staff when they were there. They facilitated a late check-in and were happy to let us keep our car in the garage after check-out until we were ready to leave Port Fairy. Compact, clean, comfortable accommodation. Apartment contained everything you needed to whip up a meal if you needed to, but was only a 5 minute walk to Port Fairy restaurant and shops. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Location of the apartments was great with all shops and restaurants within a short stroll. We had an upper level two bedroom apartment which was presented in excellent condition, huge open plan lounge/kitchen.Highly recommend. The upstairs Lounge area with lots of light was sensational. The Vic Apartments are as they advertise. The staff and location are great. Private garage under apartment. Spacious and well appointed accommodation. Excellent accommodation - very close to main shopping area and restaurants. nothing to tell you really, we just loved everything about the place. Spa bath didn't work and drained poorly probably reflective of the age of the hotel. No view to speak of in ground floor apartment. The shower cubicle was ridiculously small. A shelf to put the soap on kept digging in your back or alternatively you kept pushing open the glass door putting water all over the bathroom floor. Restricted hours on reception. Only until 8pm. Only small top section of windows in the bedrooms opened. Nothing not to like. Felt the shower wasn't very powerful and that the bed was quite hard for my liking. Two single beds pushed together to make a double bed. Doona was not big enough for the bed and had no doona cover just a sheet underneath and a sheet on top. Very minor but ceiling fans would be a good idea in the bedrooms. With the blinds down to keep the room dark the hopper windows at the top don't let any breeze in. We liked everything. Nothing. Perhaps the pillows were a little hard but the bed was comfortable. Nothing . having to leave. !!!. No view. Perhaps a little tight for space in the "kitchen"area, but our only slight comment. Nothing to dislike. The bed was quite hard. We had a studio apartment which did not have laundry facilities. It would have been nice if there had been a laundry room for guests staying in the studios. n/a. The apartment was too small and not a lot of room. If we came to Port Fairy again, which we will, we will book into a bigger apartment. No criticisms. Size and layout of apartment we booked. Price high for room size. Couldn't open wardrobe easily with bedside table next to it and ironing board filling the inside. Paper thin walls next to stairwell magnifying loud talking upstairs. Much smaller than anticipated. Bathroom lighting over basin bad, couldn't see face in mirror as standing in front of ceiling light. Bedside table obstructs cupboard opening. Nothing at all negative.
