Location, close to Fitzroy Gardens and around 20 minutes walk from city centre, quiet atmosphere and friendly staff at reception. Rooms are spacious and the kitchen is very functional, offering all you need to prepare your meals in terms of cookware! Make sure you take the hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel, as public transport is two streets away (still convenient). close walk to foot ball on site manager was friendly thank god and room was clean i shut curtains and blocked out the scariness and i was ok then......to be truth ful if it wasent for the onsite manager being friendly and me having a friend stay i would have bolted though the feeling and vibe of that street and area.
all reviews » It was central to so many things, once you get the feel of the area and locate transport. The city is within easy walking distance, but so is train and trams. The apartments are dated but for the traveller on a budget we found they were fine. The location is very good for our family to get around. Near to many places of interests. It is very safe for family with young children to stay at. We would love to stay at City Edge Apartment in our next visit to Melbourne. The cost was very reasonable and affordable, room was great and the parking was free. Very good once we finally found it, thank god we had a car, having the check in at another venue was very inconvenient. Wonderful. Free wifi. 3 beds for 3 people really worth it. Good complimentary coffee and tea. Nice bathtub looks new. With a smoking area on every level suitable for smokers. Also free parking!. Fantastic location, great access to transport, parking, a small IGA & restaurants. This was our third stay in three years. I've recommended City Edge to many friends. loved the location. Conveniently located to public transport. supermarket, bottle shop, food outlets etc. Compact and had everything we required in the apartment. Right on the edge of Melbourne CBD it was a 10-15 minute walk to the shops etc. Clean and well presented with comfortable beds. Laundry facilities available. Full kitchen, separate lounge, separate bedroom. Very close to the hospital we were visiting. Appropriate for families on longer stays. For both of us we found our accommodation very comfortable, and fitted all our needs and expectations. Were extremely satisfied. close to supermarket/alcohol shop and pizza place also was close to mcg which was our main thing we came for. We liked that the facility had a kitchen which was important to us with a child with special dietary needs. location close to food and supermarket parking was free and close down the road at number 92 albert. good quality accom.especially for 2 bedroom app.easy to acess city .would recomend to anyone. Everything. driving up to the place scared me i run accommodation to and seriously the place looks very scary from the out side and the parking $35.00 charge is wrong i think...... its not like they are under cover or behind a gate was not happy about that at all. We stayed in Gipps street with family so had two apartments on top floor. With baby and toddler and three flights of stairs and no lift this might be worth thinking about if you are in same position or elderly. The apartment foyer had some local info, but perhaps a transport map would be a handy addition. It was very inconvenient to check in at another address once you've found the venue and it was raining, had to run a few blocks. No good if your elderly or it's night or even worse if you've disembarked from a taxi. Location..its a far walk to town . Looks abit old in the toilet can be repainted. But bathtub looks new. Parking is a bit tight. But its free so no complains. The layout of our most recent apartment - the office workers who could look directly into the living area. The blinds didn't really offer privacy. Noisy Plumbing and traffic, although note that not all apartments are in the same building. Didn t like that we had no hot water on Wedneday or Thursday so no shower for most of stay. Not very pleasant. hard to find taxi's on the street parking at the treasury building was too small for cars, 2 spaces really only fit 1 car. no reason to dislike anything. No room for 4 people to sit and eat a meal. We got in late and I felt like we were in the amazing race trying to find out room. Kitchen Lino a bit sticky to bare feet. i felt the distance in the instructions was a bit short. it was more like 200m not 80m and at night this seems even further. Stayed at 2bedroom gipps, no hot water at all for the fourth person to take shower. Wind tunnel noise from front door, but once we worked it out, all that needed was a door stopper!. A lot of traffic noise. shower was to low and there was no towel rails to hang towels. Noisy guests coming in late at night. that check in was not available at 1400. Room was next to a VERY noisy entrance door. It rumbled throughout the night. Limited and very small carparking spaces. Bathroom, whilst clean had been resprayed at some stage and the paint was peeling off. Looked old and tired despite the paint job. Ask for a room on the upper level and towards to back. No out look, had to keep blinds closed during day as office opposite. A little noisy as you could hear people in other apartments watching tv and also hear sliding doors, not bad enough to stop me coming back though. Ringing up to book room only to be told that the room was cheaper if I booked on line. When I arrived I found out that I paided $300.00 more than I should have. Left room came home only to recieve call from motel to say that I left the room in a mess which I did not. Not happy at all. climbing in the bath to have a shower as I have a bad leg it was difficult. Staff location. Had to go to different building(near by) to check in and check out. abit noisy and parking was an issue when we arrived on the friday night. No towel rails, tea/coffee not replenished, window winders broken/missing. Dated and worn decor and carpets. only car space to small,. Wasnt sure check in was in powlett street wasnt pre-warned as to that occurrence. Receptionist was hard to communicate with when we booked in. Gave poor directions to go to other motel. Did not like the fact I had to lodge my credit card for $150.00 in case I lost the key. The $150.00 is still sitting on my credit card pending. This should not have happened. As we stayed 3 days more tea bags should have been left. Not enough towels and toilet paper. check in at one place and travel to another. Staying on third floor. Too hard draging luggage up the stairs. Needs better blinds/curtains as appartment accross had light on all night and shined through. Nothing.
