Majority of staff were friendly and helpful. I requested a cot for my 6 month old daughter upon booking the room and it wast forgotten about (most hotels forget this). Valet parking was excellent and staff were available and helpful when i needed an extra hand to put pram and baby in the car. Very comfortable and felt welcome. We will return if we ever go back to darwin for a holiday. Reception made us feel very welcome and accommodated our afternoon flight with a 1pm check out. The bed was very comfortable. We also appreciated the cold water in our vehicle when we collected it each day. Loved the art in the foyer.
all reviews » We were only there 5 hours as we had flown in on a very early flight and needed a bed until we could check in to our holiday hotel. The room was exactly what we wanted ...a very comfortable bed and very quiet!! Thank You Hilton. the staff were absolutely amazing & nothing at all was a problem. The club floor was fabulous with equally wonderful staff who went out of their way to either help with questions & make sure we were happy with everything. The valour driving car to parking place and returning when needed with a compliment water bottle waiting inside. Thought that was very clever. Also the friendly service couldn't fault it. The rooms luxury. Friendly staff, great breakfast, rooms are ok per haps bit outdated but everything worked. We got an upgrade to a spa room as well as a bottle of wine because one of us had her birthday. Good!. Very friendly and professional staff. The bottle of bubbly was a very nice surprise as it was our anniversary. The bottle of cold water in the car was also very much appreciated. I was feeling particularly sick and over slept, the staff on reception kindly offered me a later check out so I had extra time to pack and then head to the airport. Enjoyed the location. In particular the room, and especially the bed, was comfortable. Aircon quiet and easily controllable, which is often not the case elsewhere. But be careful for the limitted parking times (2P means max 2 hours for example). I booked and fully paid for my hotel room on August 2nd, staff even rang me the day of my arrival to confirm my booking & arrival time. On arrival at midnight I was told my Harbour View room was not available....., so I had to change rooms after one night. This was not a satisfactory experience from a customer perpsective. Should look at free Wi-Fi as in Europe - only available in the lobby. The carpet in our rooms was stained and bleached in parts and it almost looked like someone had been killed in our room before we got there and there had been a severe tidy up!! Apart from that though, the room was fine - I'd re-carpet or put a rug over the top of it, because it really looks off-putting. &Quot;Harbor-view" and additional price didn't mean expansive harbor views but you could see the water if you stood at the window and peered at an angle around the very close building. Felt misled and somewhat ripped off. too hot too far too expensive. No free parking, credit card surcharge!, front desk staff came across efficient but stand-offish. Elodie on reception.. The ash tray and bin in the smoking area was overflowing and not emptied for the period of our stay, other people staying said they had complained about this the night before and nothing was done about it. he original room we were allocated had very little light- artificial lighting was yellow and dim and natural lighting was limited due to the cruddy outlook. Window overlooked a small space of old and algae affected concrete surrounded with a chain wire fence which was superficially covered with very old and tired bamboo like screen. Air - con, no control in the room. Very very bad air conditioning . Rooms were hot all the time and despite maintenance inspecting, it did not improve. This made the stay very unpleasant at night. Bathroom. The door a bit old. Rooms need a refurb. Lobby uninviting/ uninspiring. Unable to adjust airconditioner to cooler in room 1121. Concierge was abrupt and indifferent. Nothing. The bloody Washing machines. TV in room is not HD so I am unable to get the range of stations (and keep up with programs) that I would at home. That they still have not take block off my card. It's all a bit tired and dated The Wifi charges are exhorbitant Wifi policy is extortionate The laundry charges were 2-3 times more expensive than the best laundry in Sydney Breakfast was pretty ordinary but expensive. the harbour view from our king "harbourview" room was poor- through a small window=most disappointing. we requested interconnecting rooms (for 2 adults and 2 kids) and didnt get it. the front driveway is very small with nowhere to drop off luggage (room for about 5 cars so was full), and tour bus blocked the entrance (no room for a tour bus to come in). The foyer image was greatly let down by a filthy carpet area outside the lifts. It was absolutely disgusting for a 5star hotel. The gym was ill equipped, more like a home gym! The room service and reception staff rarely answered the phone. Very dated hotel. We expected a lot more for the price they charge. Disappointing stay and we won't be back to the Hilton. Rooms were not well serviced. Every day of our 6 day stay brought some problem. For example rubbish bin emptied but left in room, no fresh towels left to replace used ones, milk or soap not replenished, sheets not changed. The room I was given was a twin share despite me ringing from melb prior to confirm a king room. I was able to change but had to pay extra money because you didn't have availability for the room I had booked. Further to this the manager inferred that I had not booked the correct room and took no responsibility for the mistake. I wa very disappointed in the mistake and the outcome.
