First of all, the location is convenient, and close to some good local cafes for a lazy sunday brunch.The staff were super friendly, even mapping out for me the directions of how to get to my destination! The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom/kitchen had everything you need for a pleasant stay. I was also very relieved I could drop my luggage before/after check-in/check-out, the staff are more than happy to hold onto your luggage so we can all enjoy Canberra luggag.
all reviews » Space in the room - Layout and facilities provided. The bed was comfortable, the staff were non-intrusive. We thought we had a really great time. We were pleased with so many restaurants and ate at a different place each night. Not an issue to come back after due to close proximity of them all. The apartments are in the city centre, within easy reach of all key sites, staff is extremely helpful without being intrusive We were impressed with Canberra especially that everyone was querying our choice, it's a nice vibrant city with plenty to do even on a rainy day in winter... The location is superb, it is in the heart of Canberra city. And the staff are vibrant and helpful. It also has a cafe and restaurant outside the apartments. The apartments are fully equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities. The location and convenience to the University (ANU) - brilliant! I liked the dicrete, classy, low-key presentation of the hotel. wonderful for visiting academics. My room was very comfortable. It had lovely balcony overlooking the street with a table and chairs. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spacious. The location was great; the room had all I needed; the 'breakfast box' was an excellent facility for an early departure. Position excellent for seeing the sites of Canberra. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would most definitely stay again. The ambiance of the apartments leaves a little to be desired, that is, the decor is a little tried making and needs updating. I would have liked a bigger TV screen. It was a bit small to see properly from the bed. The outlook was disappointing - the photo on the site showed French doors opening onto a veranda; my view was dreary & looked across to other rooms & I wasn't confident about privacy. Maybe a slatted screen in the middle of this area could be erected - to promote privacy... The inoperative living room blinds were very off-putting. The restaurant's kitchen exhaust flu was noisy. Nothing! It was great. Guests should be made aware that there will be VERY loud music on saturday nights ,especially in apartment 7 which seemed to be directly above PJ Orileys .Otherwise a great location. Some noise from Irish Pub and ventalation equipment. Doors to washing/dryer unit and fridge would not close properly.TV very small. Noise from trucks emptying bottles, kegs bins at restaurants below at all hours, could easily be fixed by double glazing on the window!. The fact that loud music was allowed to be played in one of the rooms close to us both until 1am 1 night and again from early the following morning. apparently they were D.J.'s. Hardly fair in a hotel envoronment. Pillows, basically clean but due for a spring clean ie; curtains and blinds. Parking is limited . constant noise-- elevator very loud and some other noise that was a constant low roar. We were facing the back ally. on the other side of the ally were nightclubs. Every hour or so they emptied their empty bottles in the bins located there. We were woken by this every hour. At 6am these bins were emptied by garbage trucks. Very interrupted sleep. need to tell people that there is a charge with credit card before charging. The room I had backed onto a back lane area and there was a lot of late night/very early morning noise. Venue could consider double glazing as I had two disturbed nights sleep from the noise. 300ml of milk for 4 days. Room Noisy. A little noisy. I dropped the parking bollard on my foot and it really hurt. A safety warning would have been helpful but probably my own fault not the hotel's. Early morning noise directly outside the rooms. Probably unavoidable. Noisy pub near room. Parking spaces very limited especially as most visitors will be driving to the apartments. Venetian blinds needed dusting. I'm glad we stayed on the weekend with free parking across the road otherwise there would not have been enough parking out the back as it was all booked. Noisy cafe underneath. a bit noisy from pj o'reillys on Saturday nights. Nothing. -Noisy people in neighbouring room. -Paying for parking. wasn't able to relax and watch tv as the tv stations didn't work. Bedroom was connected to a generator which it was very noisy it stopped at 11.30 p.m. One of us had to sleep on a camp bed in the lounge, and we are both over 65yrs old. The noise from the air con next door was very noisy and made it impossible to have a good nights sleep. The items in the cupboard should be lower, not every one is 6ft tall. It took ages for the hot water to reach the shower. Very noisy, to the point of being woken up every night. Rooms were serviced very late on occasion. Lacked facilities. Apartment was much smaller than it appeared on the internet. Kitchen accessories/utensils were very basic. Staff parked in a parking bay which we had paid for. No atmosphere. I booked parking space but was not reserved. Very noisy and hard to sleep as the outside lights were coming through the curtains.
