Fantastic value for money - I was a bit worried because it was at such a low rate...but the rooms are big! It is very comfortable. Staff are helpful and 24 hrs. There are two pools, which was great for the kids. Restaurant, room service at night, and $8 cooked eggs for breakfast. We stayed in the most basic of rooms. However the "kitchenette" had everything, including an electric cooker, so really the only thing you are missing out on is an oven. It is certainly not brand new, but it is clean.

This stay wins our vote for best value for our 7 weeks of travelling. We were astounded at the size of the room, the quality of the room and that breakfast is included in the price! We paid only $80 for all this - it is worth much more! Breakfast cook was very friendly and helpful. A delightful stay - would have stayed longer if we could have!. Sensible planning of the accommodation. Very comfortable bed. Silent air conditioner. De-iced freezing compartment of fridge(rarely encountered). Full length mirror. Everything. I had been staying on Lizard Island, where the accommodation looked fantastic but was a battle to settle into. The friendly staff who were always willing to help. They had a cheerfula and friendly demeanour that made you feel welcome and valued. A special mention goes to David who was very helpful with local attractions and helping me with my flight bookings. Really spacious, clean apartment and lovely pools. Friendly and helpful staff! Good location a few minutes walk to Cairns Esplanade and a short drive to the CBD. A great location to do Reef m/Rainforest trips from which the staff can help with. They offered us a room next to our son & family -- very much appreciated. The front desk staff were very warm and efficient -- both when we checked in & when we left. Location is great so close to the Esplanade. Very well appointed, roomy apartments. Ours had direct access to the pool and other amenities via the rear entry doors. Staff were friendly and helpful and assisted us in booking our excursions. the apartment had everything that we needed,it was well laid out, the bathroom, kitchen area very clean.It was in a quiet area and we could walk/cycle to all the local attractions. We live 20km north of Cairns. Its cheaper and a bit of a treat for us to stay overnight in town than get a taxi in and back. Good to walk into town along the esplanade to eat out. Friendly service,clean rooms and facilities,attended a seminar close by,used the Esplanade for my daily fitness program and was also in walking distance to the hospital. I liked the spacious room which is very large and very comfortable compared to other hotels. I also liked the close free car park. I really enjoyed my stay there. Wonderful big rooms, comfortable and easily cooled on those hot days and nights. Staff couldn't do enough for you and they were always smiling, so very important!. Pool on Lake St Comfortable, affordable accommodation in a good location We were looking for a break away from home (rest and relaxation) and that is what we got. We enjoyed our stay in two two bedroom apartments. It was comfortable, clean and in a good location, especially for the price, which was very reasonable. If you want a brand spanking modern sparkling apartment then this isn't for you. If you want space, comfort, service, and value for money - then this is it. The main air condition unit near main door of the apartment was too noisy as it was an old type of unit. Everything was GREAT. Gloomy corridors. Having to pull the heavy curtains for privacy: understandable at night, but a bore during the day. Very little else. The lack of close proximity parking to the apartment in which I was staying in. The below standard of cleaning in the bathroom, which had a constant odour of mould. There was evidence of mould on the shower tiles, around the base of the bath, around the base of the toilet cistern and on the tiles between the bath and the vanity. The also was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so whenever anyone had shower there would be a build up of steam which made the mould smell worse. Nothing. The restaurant didn't have a nice ambiance - and the coffee was not very good. having to leave to go back to work. Not a huge negative or anything to do with the hotel, its just the kids piked out walking back home at night - wish it was just that little bit closer to town. N/a. Pool on Digger St. No problems. The room was sometimes noisy; we had an adjoining door & it butted onto the pool & public walkways. Furniture a bit dated and showing wear. 2Km away from the city. Around 20 mins walk. Cab will be much faster and takes 10~12.5 Aus for 1 single trip only, needs maybe just 2~5 mins. Room service meals a little expensive - should be a cheaper option for families to choose after a full day out and about - you don't want to be paying $40+ each to eat and have desert. However on saying this the food was beautiful. Old stove. Nothing odd I did notice but i hope the civil work down the road gets completed before the holiday period. Charge for wifi. Customer wifi not working. Room was located over one of the pool areas so could be a little noisey at times In hindsite would have liked hot plate or grill available to use in kitchen. We arrived very early after a sleepless flight and the girl at front desk was very kind, tried to do her best to put us in a room already. unfortunately her shift was over and her successor was not that happy to give us the room rather sooner than later. So we had to wait for several hours...(but this was not an obligation on their part, it was 7 in the morning, but we would have appreciated the kindness). glass cooktop cracked right through .... sink in awkward position .... frypans damaged and badly scuffed inside ... It was quite a way from downtown resteraunts. The position or distance between the toilet and the bathroom vanity cupboard was a bit too close for our liking. Felt squashed. Just as well we didn't have to spend a lot of time in there LOL. It's a bit of a walk into town. Some of the re-furbished rooms have wet bathrooms with zero storage/surface areas and the water literally goes everywhere! Once we moved to a different refurbished room it was lovely. Filter coffee is a bit weak. Breakfast option to upgrade from inclusive light breakfast to any other menu with no discount from light breakfast. shower was very hard to fix it was very loose. back parking was very high for cars to come out. bottom part of car hit the road. liked everything. We were booked for 2 nights in a deluxe double room but were placed in a room designed for a disability with a very noisy hallway. Also our breakfast was a continental when the prices were for a hot meal which is why we upgraded from a budget room. It was also cold but there wasn't any blankets supplied and I couldn't sleep. Llighting over bed not adequate for reading. nothing. The noise echoing from the hallway when people would walk past. nothing. Did not like our original room which was dated, unclean and there was building work in the below apt which was our reason for upgrade. Also there was no oven in the new upgraded apt. It was all good. Bit far from town if you don't have a car.
