Thé réception looks v wellcoming with wonderfully fragrant, abubdant lillies adding to the sense of space, quality, care and welcome. Sandy was warm and welcoming w a good sense of people and humour. Efficient and the banana cake was very appreciated! More personable and attentive to details than most hotels in this price range. It was refreshing and the look, decor too. Good size beds and decor.
all reviews » Our 2nd stay at Friday on the Beach; we love the location and the simplicity. Simple motel rooms though wonderful outlook on to grassy lawn leading to beach. One of the few reserve beach front properties in Byron Bay. Able to cook meals on the BBQ. Greeted with lovely home made cake. The location was ideal , all bars , restaurants nearby. Beach next door. Location was perfect. location was right on the beach,which you cant see from the ground floor,.and minutes from town centre. on the beach. The welcome cake. We stayed in room 4 this time; the bathroom is very narrow. Didn't get to stay long enough!!. We needed Internet service for multiple devices. My son is in on line school, so free wifi was a necessity. I was very surprised and disappointed when we were limited to one device. We had 2 laptops and 4 smart phones that we use for communicating while we are traveling. International cell service rates are extremely expensive, so we depend on the Internet while we are in hotels. If I had known it was one device we wouldn't have stayed there. Bathrom door was difficult to move without effort and noise, looked in vain for some kind of air freshener/ scented candle. Unfortunately our bed wasn't the greatest. One side had a big sag in it. Wasn't a biggie - just meant we snuggled up on the other side :). Wi Fi was not great. I had to go out to the balcony to get reception. But this is not a big issue. It's the only thing I can think of as a negative. The weather. people were allowed to smoke on the balcony and smoke got into our room. Byron Bay was spoilt for us by all the schoolies. Be careful to go when it is quieter. Slightly disappointed that Friday on the Beach was not the luxury stop we expected. Bathroom cramped. -the place is A motel and the money we paid was only for the location. -the rooms were small, -the bathroom was tiny. -the photos were not of our room. cleaning products bad odor, natural products would be far more pleasant. Checking in staff, location, felt unsecure as the room was accessible to the general public.
