Room looked basic from decor perspective but had facilities over & above what I expected (tea & coffee, mini fridge, iron & board). Everything worked & room v v clean. Asked for "high & quiet" room which I got. Arrived an hour early & was offered alternative room as opposed to original room booked which wasn't quite ready. Reception staff v efficient & helpful, location was perfect. All in all v pleasant stay, have recommended to others already!.
all reviews » Amazing for the price. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the negative reviews but this place is a gem. Cheap and right in the heart of the city. The room was small but perfect for a single. Air conditioning, TV, kettle, fridge, wardrobe, iron, ensuite and quiet. I've paid twice this for a comparable room in a comparable location. No hesitation in recommending and will definitely stay here again. I read lots of very negative on-line reviews about this hotel; so upon arrival, I was apprehensive. But I was surprised - location was perfect for the price I pay. Service was good and my room, towel and linen were clean. I would recommend this hotel again to any solo traveller especially ones on business trips. I wouldn't recommend it to a family on long holiday trips as size of standard room is small. The room was small but comfortable. For an overnight stay, it had all that was required. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. For snacks, there is a delicious pie-shop over the road, as well as a Subway. It is only 2 blocks to the Queen St Mall, and a 10 min walk to the South Bank Performing Arts Halls. The location is just perfect and for a city like Brisbane budget-friendly. You can reach everything within walking distance and also being so close to Roma station is a big advantage (from where you get the express train to the airports and can organize day trips or catch the greyhound busses. The Hotel is in the centre of CBD and near to the main City Attraction. It's a very good platform to visit Brisbane arriving from the airport because the CityTrain Station is near (approx less than 500 mt). You can buy breakfast that is good and bit cheaper. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this is up there in world standard as far as hotel rooms go, clean, comfortable, air con, close to the city. Its what a hotel measures up to perfectly. Clean spacious bedroom with a bathtub in the bathroom. The drive into the basement to park. Nerves were primed and heart pumping. Reception Staff on Check In and departure were very helpful and welcoming. Restaurant staff were eager to please. The receptionist was very efficient & friendly. Small TV screen. No Foxtel. The orange colour on the feature wall in my room. If you wanted a luxury room then this is not for you. The room was great to store shopping, freshen up and have a rest. The water pressure isn't brilliant, but it's hardly a big problem. Oh, and the TV is pretty small - but again, look at the price. We were in one day & out 4am the next day to return home re a court appearance. The hallways were a little bit smelly but this did not extend into the rooms at all, rooms were great. Shower low on pressure and constantly runs hot/cold. Shower was a bit weak but that is it!. Room was a bit on the small size. The carpark was limited for room and if you went out at night time there was no guarantee you could get back in, even if you paid for the whole day already!! The TV was tiny and very poor quality reception, it was snowing on most channels.. The coffee satchels (much prefer maconna coffee) Plastic Milk in fridge (although I did ask at the resturant and received a small cup of real milk) No Bikkies!! to have with late night snack(The Endeavour Foundation in Kingaroy 4610 make delicious biscuits and is run by people who have disabilities - suggest maybe trying these ). The room was really, really small. A double room was booked - in my home country, this means two beds, but we had to squeeze into one bed in a tiny room. Not exactly that i don't like but I feel some loyalty reward would be nice for keeping coming back. Like free breakfast ? Coming back year after after would be nice to be appreciated. We had breakfast at the same spot and we had to wait very long to get served, the rooms are very small not much room to move or put bags. It was my first time staying there and I did not notice anything unusual that I did not like, except perhaps looking out my window did not have a good view. The next tall building blocked my view. air conditioning in room is only for cooling,so having an extra heater was a bit unprofessional. Clock did not work. No dislikes, very satisfied. I wish the door would stay open long enough for me to enter on my scooter, it is much easier for me to manually close the door once i have gained entry than it is to try and hold the door open and enter at the same time. Nothing much. TV needed updating. Small tv. Bathroom a bit dated. One of the morning staff in the restaurant seemed like she didn't want to be there. The other staff member was ok. Everything is good. expensive internet. The first room we had the bathroom sink tap came off in my hand. And the toilet became clogged, with no toilet brush or anything to try to unclog. Lack of parking and cost of parking. Also rooms were a bit small.
