Stayed 3 nights with my cousin from Scotland, found the staff to be very professional and extremely helpful in regard to booking our activities and recommending places to eat. I would recommend Water's Edge Resort. Fantastic view. I liked the fact it was so close to town, option of dining, the option of the late checkout (5pm) was fantastic, it gives you nearly a whole day extra and the rooms are great value for money.

Bathroom with two doors Definately recommend it. Layout of the resort. Position & closeness to Airlie restaurants & facilities. Views from the room & good balcony space. spacious living quarters - well equipped kitchen and amenities beautiful pool good proximity to town/beach/ barrier reef excursions. The room was lovely and the views were amazing. It was so quiet and relaxing. The pool area was lovely. Spacious apartment, kitchen was very well equipped. Three small pools and even a jacuzzi available. Access to pool area was great. View was amazing. Apartment very well laid out with lots of room. The location and view from the room. the 3 pools. The size of the room & the facilities. The only thing I can suggest is that the Reception stay open a little later in the evening. beds were super comfortable great view good for booking tours and transport great location. Great spot, excellent rooms & great value for money. Will defanately stay there again. We were very impressed with the apartment, had everything we needed for our short stay. The location and the trips you can do in the great barrier reef in the area of the whitsoubd islands. Check in staff was really lovely and had the long lunch at Dejavu Restaurant which was awesome. Large room, good facilities. it's close to the centre. close to town. Room was big and comfortable, but that is were the comfort ended!. the view. we wanted to lay by the pool sunday but with the long lunch felt a little conspicuous. Checkout at 10, they check the time when we checked out to make sure, if its deemed 11 its $25 fine. A little strict Shower and bath run simultaneously, wouldnt switch betweenthe too. Second Bedroom small & didn't account for two couples as against a family with children. Noisy on Sundays with long lunch groups. charges for pool towels and wifi outdoor hallway to rooms was very dark/unsafe during the day - needs to be lit 24/7. Internet was 5$ per hour and by the time we went there it wasn't working at all! The style of the rooms were a bit old school as well as there was not very much attention to detail. There was a wedding on in one of the balconies beside the pool area but none of the staff informed us of this either when we were booking in or later. This took over the pool area most of the afternoon and the restaurant for the evening. It would have been nice to have been told in order to make other arrangements for the afternoon/early evening. noise from building site across road, but this was nothing to do with the hotel. Pools could be bigger. Advertised as self contained units but run as a hotel with weddings and functions. There was a wedding the night we arrived, outside our balcony, resulting in our 2yo struggling to sleep with noise. Reason for choosing waters edge was that it was units and not a hotel. Tad misleading. Not serviced. poor lighting around the terrace and outside the apartment. 2 weddings in 6 days blocking off some of the pools and restaurant - also noisy Noise from construction works nearby. Bit outdated room and very noisy. Bed not very comfortable and no tv in bedroom. ---. The price if you want to check out latet. The staff member that was on reception in the afternoon was very rude and made me feel I was a nuisance. Of all the hotels we stayed in aussie land this was the worste. The reception is only open from 7:30 to 19:30. Help outside these hours is not arranged. The internet does not work, even though you have to pay extra for it. For the price you pay you don't even get house cleaning.... If I want to clean my room every day, then I might as well stay at home. Very outdated and old for the price!! Needs renovating badly. Building work meant that pool area was practically unusable and given that we chose the hotel specifically for the presence of a pool this was quite dissappointing. We were not informed of the building work either at the time of booking or when we checked in. the Wifi I had to pay for, and ALOT! and it didn't work in my room, I expect in a hotel like this that this would be a free service, or at least work when you pay for it! they were building across the street and it woke me up at 6:30 evry morning... lounge bed no stereo other rooms I stayed in had all that no TV in room. The receptionist, not friendly at all, in fact quite rude. Noise, noise, noise day cld not sleep or relax at all because the Position of apartment was adjacent to the lift which made an awful noise,cleaners storage cupboards who started working 5.30-6AM! Apartment below were allowed to have a very load party early to late evening on Sat night! Also parking was first come first served and there was no where else to park in the area this building was situated. All in all we hated it, a strong word yes but the truth!. rude staff at reception,poor condition of property,bed on wheels that did not lock,no accessto restaurant due to private function,broken tap in kitchen,etc.needs new management & a complete reno.
