There it was! The iconic Bryggen in full view from our hotel room window. The Scandic Strand could not have been better sited. Below us was the famous Fish Market and the Vagen Waterway, with only a short walk to the Floyen Mountain funicular. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was varied and more than adequate. Front desk staff Christer and Linn were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The only downside was late night music from a waterfront bar which kept us awake o.
所有评语 » Room was very large and very comfortable for a family of four. The staff was accommodating, breakfast was good and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We had taken it as a stopover before our trip of the Fjords, the hotel was a great place to spend the night specially since we traveled from Oslo and reached late, there were enough places to grab a bite even at 11 in the night. Absolutely the best location, across the street from the Fish Market and several restaurants, Hop-on-Hop-off bus for touring the city and great harbor views. Nearby the Bryggn area. Breakfast was quite ample and plenty to choose from. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is right right across the water from Bryggen. The breakfast is excellent. The place is clean and the room is just enough for the four of us. the location is just close to fish market and very easy to get there by airport bus, the room is not big but is comfortable, most people from hotel are very nice. Position in front of the Fish Market Play room for children with Lego, Playstation, etc. Breakfast room available for coffee and tea all day long. Lobby was comfortable and had views, location was prime, breakfast was great, room was quiet(not facing street) and clean. We agree that we had the best view in Bergen of the fish market and wharf area from our windows in the Scandic Strand. The hotel is located in the center of Bergen with walking distance to shopping centeres and tourist atractions. Fabulous location on the harbor next to the fish markets. ask for a room with a view as it is great. Location was right in the center. Nothing special but comfortable enough. Breakfast was excellent. The position of the hotel on the wharf is excellent and close by to all the transport systems and the Tourist Information Office (opposite hotel) There are numerous restaurants and bars around the wharf. As we were staying for 6 nights we were upgraded to a front room overlooking the wharf with excellent views out to sea and the mountains from the room on the 5th floor. Staff were friendly and the room was clean with daily change of towels. There was always hot water for a shower anytime of. The location is excellent, its just beside the tourist information which is the at the central of Bergen. Almost everything is within walking distance. Excellent location for tourism. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Airport bus stop opposite hotel. Good breakfast choice. The location can't be beat. The fire alarm rang at 6 in the morning and for first 20 mins, no one had a clue of what was going on. It could have been handled better. The parking near the hotel were full and we spent 2 hours hunting for a place to park the car. It was very frustrating. Room was smallish, didn't have a chest or closet to have your clothes during the stay, everything stayed in the luggage. Would have been nice to have a box of tissues. If you had the harbor view, you also had the late night music and noise from the harbor cafes. Noise at night from market and harbour cafes and bars if room overlooks these areas which ours did. But appreciated the views. Very expensive place!!! Finalize your plans as soon as possible otherwise at the last minute you end up paying a lot. I am not sure how much cheaper the other hotels in the area would have been if we could book earlier but we feel we payed a lot for the hotel. room is small compare to the price although everything in Norway is expensive. Bathroom really too small (room for 4 people) Daily cleaning not perfect. If anything, I thought the hallways looked dingy and were not comparable to lobby(beautiful)and rooms. No car parking. No parking. The bar in the building was privately owned and seemed expensive. But most things are in Norway. Nothing!. noise from outside!. Price does not reflect level of comfort. Nearest parking available about 10 min walking from hotel. noise from party goers till 4 in the morning. Totally cramped room: fitting 5 people in a regular double room. Noise level at the lower floors, 4 and below are unexceptable. nothing. Nothing. Rain,rain,rain!. Personell in general not being enough well trained in costumer relations -- have to see everyone as individuals. Would be nice to have a bedside clock. noise from outside and some times from other rooms. Apart from breakfast their was no option to eat in the hotel if you had been out on a long trip although there were light snacks tea/coffee/hot chocolate available at extra cost by reception. The sound proof isn't really good, I have a bad sleep, waking up every 2 hrs at the night by the noise from the street even I was staying at 5th floor. Single room really was just that...very small and certainly not worth the price. The bar staff - which I understand is a different company -a little offhand. Hotel could do with a refurbishment. Very expensive for what we got. The room was small and in need of renovation. bath towel was too small. DÅrlig wifi. Price. We stayed in a family room. The bathroom was definitely too small even for one person. Sofa for the kids was so awful, that they could not sleep. At the reception we were told that breakfast starts at 7, but there was almost nothing at that time. Lack of heating in the room! The heating/rad did not work - hence the room was quite cold. We had both old and renovated rooms: Old rooms have a musty smell Renovated rooms are small and cramped Far too expensive for what it is Big hotel with a feeling of 3 stars at max Scandinavian simplicity is not similar to bare necessity feeling We stayed at De Hanseatiske Hotel, just across Scandic Strand: For almost the same price, you get much nicer rooms, a real feeling of 4 stars +, and the overall experience is much more enjoyable. We didn´t get the room we have booked (family room for 2 adults and 2 children in a modern style), but an old-fashioned room. Indeed we could change the room, but the new one was not much better. There was no possibility to get a modern style room. The concierge was also not professional. We also didn´t like the carpeted floor. The room was very sparse with nothing on the walls. However the worst was the bathroom. It was so small that you could barely get past the toilet to the shower. You had to use the toilet sideways or your knees hit the wall. The sink was so small you could not fit two hands in it.
