  Amazing friendly staff, great facilities and air conditioning. Regularly cleaned. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful, they will be able to tell you anything about Rio. This is not a typical "party" hostel as there are people of all different ages and walks of life. Having said that, the bar is great and the caipirinhas are authentic! The ... vad folk säger » only thing that could be considered a negative is the many steps you need to walk up to access it but after the first time it all becomes part of the - The hostel was really very good, our room had a private balcony and was a good size on the upper floor, well located in Santa Teresa overlooking Rio and next to Lapa, a fun district full of clubs and restaurants, staff was young, enthusiastic and very helpful......especially David at front desk, good breakfast and plentiful great Brazilian coffee!!!!

  Everything in the hotel was superb. Of course it is a bit expensive, but you are really treated like you "own the place". The staff is just perfect. The hotel is basically a beautiful old house, with a brazilian decoration of its finest taste, and a breathtaking view of the city. Rooms are clean and classy. Just remarkable.   Even before we left the UK our host Isobel was most welcoming arranging pick up at the airport. We woke up the next morning to the most amazing view and fantastic breakfast on the veranda. There is no better view anywhere in Santa Theresa. The building is 60's art deco with a great conservatory with views for when it gets cooler.   We spent three nights at the R&C Santa Teresa and were very happy with our choice for romantic vacation. The room was very nice and very clean. The design of hotel is awesome. The staff is very friendly and this is valid for everybody (security, front desk, waiters, room service etc). The people from the front desk always had a smile on thei... vad folk säger » r face and were very helpful for taxi, recomendation to order restaraunt, clubs, etc The spa is really nice, romantic and the massages are very good b - Perfect for a two-three day getaway and would work well if the beach is not an option (winter) or just to mix it up before/after a few days at the beach. The area itself is interesting and from what I gather has some cool drinking holes and restaurants. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!
