  Amazing friendly staff, great facilities and air conditioning. Regularly cleaned. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful, they will be able to tell you anything about Rio. This is not a typical "party" hostel as there are people of all different ages and walks of life. Having said that, the bar is great and the caipirinhas are authentic!   We spent three nights at the R&C Santa Teresa and were very happy with our choice for romantic vacation. The room was very nice and very clean. The design of hotel is awesome. The staff is very friendly and this is valid for everybody (security, front desk, waiters, room service etc). The area itself is interesting and from what I gather has some cool drinking holes and restaurants. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!
