  Very professional, helpful staff. Enormous room with jacuzzi and a walk-in shower that doubles as a steam room. Very acceptable level of noise in my street-facing room. Good wifi in the public areas. - Really nice bedroom! Bath and shower are awesome!

  This was our second stay in the Monte Alegro. Great location near the Arcos de Lapa. Plenty of supermercados, banks, restaurants in the area. Staff were energetic and knowledgable.   The staff were absolutely wonderful in every way. They arranged safe storage of documents in the hotel safe even though it was not a usual service. The house keeping staff are fastidiously clean. The porter in particular was a gem. He walked me to a laundry some distance away and arranged laundry as I do not speak Portuguese well. They are honest and you pay by the meter. I used a car service that hotel offers when I visited steel plants that are far from the hotel. It is safe near the hotel.
