  All front desk staffs speak good English. Since this is a business hotel, rates on the weekend was cheaper than the weekdays. Use a yellow taxi if you go to tourist spots. They are honest and you pay by the meter. I used a car service that hotel offers when I visited steel plants that are far from the hotel. It is safe near the hotel. People outside the hotel don't speak English. - Great location if you want to hang around in Lapa. Very close to the metro station so you can easily go to Copacabana and Ipanema as well.   Ok, this is not a five-star hotel, but they don't charge a five-star price either. My opinion is, you get exactly what you pay for. It's in Lapa, this means it probably used to be in a slum. It is not in a slum now. It is 50 meters from Selaron staircase, a famous landmark. It is a vibrant neighborhood, so maybe it's not ok for children -- I would... hva folk sier » n't know. Stuff are very helpful, they do speak English (I was prepared to resort to - Good location in Lapa, not far away from the Arcos da Lapa or Cinelandia station. A rather tidy room. The lay-out of the rooms is spacious for Rio, and the AC was nice an - rooms are clean, with daily room cleaning during your stay, shower hot and good pressure, bed and pillows comfortable, staff speak fluent english and are all very polite and helpful. The location is great, about 700m from metro, bus stops even closer, taxi's driving past front door at any time of day or night, very accessible, walkin distance to arches of lapa, and night life area. breakfast in the morning is delicious and a large variety.
