  We very much enjoyed our six nights at the Art Hotel Stella in Lugano. It is an easy 5 minute walk from the Lugano train station, which is on a hill above the central old town district and Lake Lugano. A ten minute walk leads to the Parco Del Tassino with great views of the lake and the mountains that ring it. The hotel was very comfortable.   It was my second stay at the Splendid Royal in the last two months and it definitely is the best hotel in Lugano.Their restaurant is the best in town and the staff is very profesional.I really enjoyed my stay there. - Everything!   It was very spacious. Typical old European with large rooms and high ceilings. It had a large balcony with a view over the town and of the lake and hills. Kitchen was small but had all basic equipment. Shower was great.   A lovely family run hotel with great views of Lake Maggiore and the Alps. The owners and staff were very welcoming and helpful and it was easy to be understood in english if necessary.
